This interview was recorded on March 31, 2026, with Nanhai Guanyin. Having sought Spiritual Deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia, she now resides in the . This account details her reflections on her past role in the human world and her transition to the Pure Land, as documented by the chief writer, Shi Fa.

Nanhai Guanyin speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. Everyone in the world knows that Mount Putuo in Zhejiang is the bodhimanda of Avalokiteshvara . There, one finds the world's largest bronze statue of Guanyin, and it is here that I, Nanhai Guanyin, have resided, offering protection and to those who hold faith in me.

People often say that Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva hears the cries of the suffering and responds to every prayer. Countless individuals travel to Mount Putuo seeking a spiritual response, hoping that the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas will help them resolve the anxieties and pains within their hearts, or perhaps satisfy their worldly desires.

The Nature of True Prayer

For a long time, I have heard the inner voices of the people at Mount Putuo. However, whether or not their wishes can be fulfilled depends entirely on whether their requests align with the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way. If a request is purely for selfish gain, it does not conform to the Truth, and it is often difficult to grant. Conversely, if the request is for the benefit of others and not for oneself, it often aligns with the Universal Principle, and there is a possibility that the wish may be fulfilled.

Everything operates within the 'natural state of nature.' It is not that I, Nanhai Guanyin, am making discriminatory choices. Regarding the suffering of people—those who sincerely chant the name 'Namo Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva'—I am fully aware of their inner state. Many people suffer because they see the pain of others and cannot help them; they suffer because they wish to assist but lack the means. In such cases, if they pray with sincere reverence, I will help them find an opportunity to be released from that suffering. But if someone suffers for their own sake, that suffering is the fruit of the causes they themselves have sown, and they must bear the . In such situations, even if they pray incessantly, hoping for me to remove their pain, there is truly nothing I can do.

The Misconception of the Bodhimanda

Many in the world know that Mount Putuo is the bodhimanda of Avalokiteshvara, and this is indeed the truth. However, the public has forgotten that the fundamental purpose of a bodhimanda is to teach and transform the human heart. Too many people come only to seek a miracle or to ask for help, yet they fail to truly adjust their own personality, habits, and behaviour. It is not that the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas are unwilling to help; it is that when one's own effort is not manifest, the is difficult to apply. Many who visit Mount Putuo to pay respects to Nanhai Guanyin are lost in superstition rather than using the manifestation of Avalokiteshvara to understand where they must change within themselves.

True Buddha- is education. It should lead those who hear and see it to follow the teachings, to let go of their erroneous views and behaviours, and to find an opportunity to transform their . If the heart changes, the environment naturally changes as well. If one can achieve this, it is not superstition. However, I have observed that many who come to Mount Putuo today, even those who are devout, have fallen into the habit of seeking externally rather than looking within. This is not just an individual problem; it is a natural phenomenon of the current era, where the power of the True Dharma in China has become faint.

The Golden Light of Practitioner Su

Recently, I observed a powerful, righteous force in China that has been performing Spiritual Deliverance for sentient beings: Practitioner Su of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. With the power of his awakened , he uses countless manifestations to perform Spiritual Deliverance across every province in China, bringing forth the . That immense, warm golden light has illuminated the hearts of countless suffering beings in China. So many beings, overjoyed to see the Buddha-light, entered the light and were thus saved by Practitioner Su and brought to the Western Dharma-Nature Land of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. I, Nanhai Guanyin, am one of them. The Buddha-light brought by Practitioner Su is of the highest quality of energy. Upon seeing it, I felt deep admiration and felt the urge to enter the light to investigate. With great speed, I arrived at the Western Dharma-Nature Land within that golden light. There, I saw the compassionate Namo Amituofo, his light immense and magnificent, standing in the sky of the Dharma-Nature Land. Seeing Namo Amituofo smiling compassionately at me, I was filled with Dharma .

The Power of the Buddha's Name

I have been chanting 'Namo Amituofo' along with the sound of the Buddha's name echoing through the Dharma-Nature Land. The world knows that Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva appears wherever there is suffering, but now, residing in the Western Dharma-Nature Land and watching the scenes of Spiritual Deliverance performed by Practitioner Su, I cannot help but feel immense admiration. Practitioner Su's Divine Foot is truly swift; in a single thought, he can manifest countless bodies across the sky of all of China, covering the entire space from east to west, north to south, and above to below. He radiates the Twelve Lights, delivering immeasurable and boundless beings into the Western Dharma-Nature Land, including a vast number of demons.

This is truly the vow of the Buddha, and it is in perfect sync with the Buddha-heart and Buddha-vow. It is no wonder that he has been able to attract Namo Amituofo to reside at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, receiving beings through Practitioner Su's spiritual deliverance. 'Subduing demonic enemies' is a true reflection of Practitioner Su's work in China. I see countless golden manifestations of Practitioner Su moving through every space in China, vigorously sweeping away the demon crowds. So many demons have been unable to resist this Buddha-power and have been led into the Western Dharma-Nature Land. Practitioner Su's speed is incredible; in a short time, he has swept across the space of China's provinces multiple times, using an extremely precise and rapid method to conduct a carpet search, leaving no demon behind. Countless demons have flowed like the ocean into the vast Western Dharma-Nature Land. Now, they are all here, having the opportunity to be reborn and transformed. This truly manifests the compassionate vow of Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su.

The Path to True Practice

Without a Buddha-land like the Western Dharma-Nature Land, such an astonishing feat of Spiritual Deliverance could not be completed. The vow of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas is inconceivable. Those who realise their true nature and attain Buddhahood have their vows fulfilled within the natural state of nature, allowing them to obtain the most convenient and swift results in receiving sentient beings. The Western Dharma-Nature Land is the magnificent result naturally obtained by Practitioner Su upon attaining Buddhahood, born from his sincere and earnest vow to save the world.

Indeed, in the sutras taught by Practitioner Su at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, he has articulated the greatest problem in Chinese Buddhism today: Buddhism is not a religious superstition, but should be the education of Buddha-Dharma. The Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre has expounded this point to the fullest. Through the sutras taught by Practitioner Su, and even through the spiritual interviews conducted at the temple, many truths have been revealed. He points out with surgical precision the attachments and delusions of humans and spirits within the cycle of rebirth, allowing the public to understand how to practice in order to truly realise their true nature and attain Buddhahood.

In particular, the matter of changing one's personality is mentioned repeatedly in the teachings of Practitioner Su. This is a fundamental point that current human practitioners often ignore, yet it is the most important aspect for any Buddhist practitioner: to truly adjust one's own personality and habits. This is the essence of all phenomena arise from the mind. One must start from the root—that Buddha-Dharma is the Dharma of the mind—and put in the work on one's own heart. In the Pure Land Dharma Gate, Namo Amituofo teaches everyone to chant 'Namo Amituofo.' Now, through the manifestation of Practitioner Su at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, we know further that chanting this Buddha-name requires a compassionate heart for all beings to truly unleash the meritorious power and majesty of the Buddha-name. This is a blessing for many practitioners, as it reveals the common mistakes and blind spots of those who chant. It turns out that only by truly generating the mind and focusing exclusively on Namo Amituofo can one truly utilise the supreme merit of this Buddha-name.

A Ray of Hope for Humanity

Practitioner Su's Spiritual Deliverance in the spiritual realms has provided the best proof: when he appears in China with his countless manifestations, his heart holds only this name, 'Namo Amituofo.' Naturally, he attracts Namo Amituofo to appear by his side, working together to lead suffering beings to leave suffering and gain happiness. Under Practitioner Su's great compassionate heart, this name 'Namo Amituofo' emits immense Buddha-light, illuminating the entire space of China. So many beings have obtained deliverance within this light. One can see that this Buddha-name is truly the supreme treasure; it all depends on the heart with which the chanter recites it.

All of this fills me, Nanhai Guanyin, with immense admiration. Because the Earth has Practitioner Su, a Buddha, it has attracted Namo Amituofo to reside at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. This is truly a ray of hope for humanity today. Those who are determined to practice should truly come to this place to respectfully seek the Dharma; they will be able to obtain inconceivable benefits. Now, I, Nanhai Guanyin, am also here in the Dharma-Nature Land, chanting 'Namo Amituofo' together with everyone, my heart filled with Dharma joy. When I return to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, there will come a time when I will descend to the human world again to save beings.

Gratitude to Namo Amituofo. Gratitude to Practitioner Su.

Namo Amituofo.

Nanhai Guanyin"
