The Illusion of Possession

On the ninth day of the Hong Kong Winter Assembly, during the noon offering, Namo Amituofo offered profound teachings on the nature of the Empty Body. is a vessel within the vast, boundless realm of emptiness. We arrive in this world from a state of pure, unblemished emptiness, bringing nothing with us. Yet, upon taking this physical form, we become attached to the illusion of life.

The Nature of Our Original State

The body is fundamentally empty and possesses nothing; it is like a fleeting shadow. How can we claim to own anything in this material world? We mistake temporary phenomena for our own possessions, forgetting that all is transient. We must recognise that attachment to the material world is the root of our suffering.

in the Midst of Dust

Emptiness is our original nature, a truth understood before we are clouded by the dust of the world. Once we enter the cycle of rebirth, we forget this original state. We must realise that emptiness is our true nature. Do not lose sight of this while wandering through the world of dust. By chanting Namo Amituofo, we purify the mind, leave behind the confusion of the material world, and return to our original, perfect emptiness. This is the path to true liberation.

Namo Amituofo.
