The Weight of Countless Stories

"Today, Lay Practitioner Koo Chung-liang is feeling very sorrowful. Every day, he speaks of the sentient beings he encounters—each spirit carries a story, and there are immeasurable and boundless sentient beings, each with their own immeasurable and boundless tales. Yet, the common outcome for all of them is that they have now become spirits. The root cause of this lies in their attachments and the complex entanglement of love and hatred. Because of this, they have entered various spaces—whether it is the space within the human body or the spaces between spaces—all of which have caused them to suffer immensely."

The Illusion of Attachment

"Everyone’s attachments are different. Some are attached to emotion, some to wealth, and others to fame. Yet, they do not realise that once the physical body is gone, they possess absolutely nothing. They are left alone to endure the consequences of everything they have done. They seek revenge, and then more revenge, but after being reincarnated, they have long since forgotten the debts they originally owed. They do not understand why their bodies have decayed so severely; everything is simply the result of the laws of karma and cause and effect."

A Vow to Carry the Burden

"Lay Practitioner Koo feels a deep sense of shame regarding the karmic causes and effects of his own past. Today, only through the assistance of the Buddha’s teachings can he truly repay these immeasurable debts that span the void. Every single sentient being is beyond calculation; this is the agony of the cycle of rebirth. Now that Namo Amituofo is present in this world, we can finally receive the true help we need. Lay Practitioner Koo has made a vow to take this responsibility upon his own shoulders."
