The Essence of Heart and Action

All dharmas are mind-only. The Buddha’s teachings require you to put in the work within your own heart. Where your heart is directed, your intentions become visible through your vows. When these vows are then manifested through your daily actions, this is what we call the unity of heart and action.

The method to help all beings leave suffering behind is to act in accordance with the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way. When you make a vow that is in harmony with these principles, you must then exert your own effort to carry it out. If you have faith in the Buddha, your own efforts will be bolstered by the Buddha’s blessing, and your practice will become truly powerful.

The Path of the Forty-eight Great Vows

At this very moment, Namo Amituofo abides at Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre. This is the auspicious time for all beings who chant Namo Amituofo to attain rebirth in the Western Pure Land. To follow the path correctly, you must rely on the Forty-eight Great Vows of Namo Amituofo, specifically the Eighteenth Vow, which promises that those who chant the Buddha’s name with sincerity will surely be reborn in the Western Pure Land.

To achieve this, one must cultivate sincere faith, trusting completely in the power of Namo Amituofo; engage in diligent practice, chanting the Buddha’s name with a focused and pure mind; and maintain a firm vow of rebirth, keeping the intention to reach the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss at the forefront of one's mind.

The Journey Toward

The unity of heart and action is a state achieved only after deep purification. It is the hallmark of a practitioner who is diligent in their practice and clear in their vow. Please, simply continue to do this work. This process is a necessary stage for anyone seeking to realise their true nature. Even after one has reached the state of an awakened being, this unity of heart and action remains the natural way to save the world and guide other beings.

When your heart and actions are unified, you are walking in accordance with the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way. You will naturally avoid all evil and refrain from breaking the . This is the way to ensure that good fruit manifests in your life. When you act with a selfless heart, free from the ego of , you become a powerful instrument for saving beings.

Living the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way

Only when your good thoughts, good vows, and good actions are unified can you reap the good fruit of your practice. The propagation of Buddhist education requires that we hold this great vow within our hearts and actions. We must move forward directly and steadfastly to benefit all beings.

When your heart and your actions in saving and delivering beings are perfectly aligned, you will receive the protection of all Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and the benevolent heavenly deities. All your endeavours will proceed smoothly and without obstruction. This is the duty and the path that all disciples of the Buddha must follow. Namo Amituofo.
