The Unwavering Resolve of the True Practitioner

Words of Namo Amituofo, recorded and transcribed by Namo Amituofo’s disciple, Venerable HaiZe, on the twentieth of April, two thousand and twenty-five, during the midday offering.
The spiritual life of every sentient being has traversed countless eons of suffering. Even if you do not remember the people you have met, the events you have experienced, or the myriad details of your past lives, you must understand that everything you encounter in this present life—the people, the objects, the events, and the scenes—is unfolding within the cycle of cause and effect.
The Flow of Causal Conditions
The law of causal conditions is the central axis upon which the cycle of rebirth turns. Within this cycle, the laws of and cause and effect are constantly in motion, manifesting as the nature of impermanence. That you have obtained a human body in this life, that you have heard the Buddha’s teachings, that you have encountered the path, and that you are now practising at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre—all of these are also unfolding within the cycle of cause and effect.
The Precious Vessel of the Human Body
Why is this human body so vital? It is because within the limited time of these causal conditions, you have the unique opportunity to use this temporary body to find the eternal truth. You are here to use this temporary body to find the eternal truth, and to use this physical form to see your true nature. When you possess this understanding and your heart remains firm and unwavering, you will be able to face any obstacle that arises during your practice. By relying on the support of both your own efforts and the power of Namo Amituofo, you will be able to confront, overcome, and break through any barrier. You must have faith in yourself, faith in the Buddha, and the strength of diligent practice to achieve this goal.
A Rare Opportunity for
In this environment, the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and true spiritual friends who guide you are those who have already realised their true nature and attained Buddhahood. They are here to help you rediscover your own true self. This is a matter of the utmost importance. Since time immemorial, how many opportunities have you truly had to encounter the path of Awakening and realise one's true nature and attain Buddhahood? You are currently in the midst of such an opportunity. You must recognise that this is a magnificent and rare chance, and you must cherish and grasp it with all your heart.
The Path of Constant Awareness
If you have not yet realised your true nature, you remain caught in the cycle of cause and effect and impermanence. Even though you are currently connected to this Buddha-land, if that connection were to fade and you were to drift away, you would lose this precious opportunity for Awakening. Therefore, you must be cautious in every single minute and second. Do not become lax or indulgent. You must make a firm vow to achieve Awakening and save all beings, and this resolve must remain unwavering. This is the essence of awareness. Constantly maintain this awareness, correct your mistakes, and engage in the continuous chanting of Buddha's name. These are the essential conditions for success in your practice.
