The Voice of the Infant Spirits and Practitioner Su
A Testimony from the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre
Recorded on February 20, 2018
The Hidden Suffering Within
On the twentieth of February, 2018, Practitioner Su experienced persistent physical discomfort in her left groin and left leg. This was not merely a physical ailment, but a manifestation of karmic affinity with the fourfold assembly of beings who were seeking help. These beings, connected to her through the deep, invisible threads of , revealed their presence to seek the of the Buddha.
They spoke as a collective, representing a multitude of tiny, dense spirits of aborted fetuses and infants who had been attached to the bones and muscles of Practitioner Su’s left leg and groin for a very long time. A representative, who identified as one of the older children among them, stepped forward to voice their shared plight.
The Echoes of Lost Lives
They explained that they were aware of the -Nature Land, a place filled with wonderful offerings and nourishment. Many of the infant spirits who had already received the Buddha’s light had ascended there. However, those who remained were the ones who had been cruelly discarded. They spoke of the selfishness of their parents or others who, driven by their own desires and convenience, had ended their lives before they were born.
Some were subjected to harmful practices or forced into unconsciousness through the use of drugs, leaving them unable to comprehend their own existence. They were forced to act only upon the commands of others, trapped in a cycle of suffering. Their forms were broken and fragmented, their bodies covered in blood, and they were unable to find any sustenance. They were souls in desperate need of love, care, and the warmth of compassion.
Seeking Warmth and Compassion
In the presence of Practitioner Su, whom they addressed as Grandma, they found a rare sanctuary. They could feel the warmth of her blood flowing and the gentle, healing radiance of the Buddha’s light shining upon them. In this light, they were able to momentarily forget the immense pain they had endured. As more spirits arrived, they were pushed further inward, yet they felt no desire to leave. When Practitioner Su gave her Dharma talks, the older children among them could understand her words. Yet, they lived in constant fear; they were terrified that if they left this place without a clear path to the of Ultimate Bliss, they would be forced back into a cycle of persecution and suffering.
A Plea for Deliverance
The representative spirit then expressed a profound sense of remorse, apologising to Practitioner Su for the burden they had caused. They realised that their attachment was preventing her from walking freely. They confessed, "We were being selfish, but we do not want to remain selfish people, just like the parents who harmed us or those who caused our deaths."
With a heart full of longing, they pleaded, "Grandma, please take us with you, will you? We are so afraid that if we do not reach the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, our fate will be truly tragic." In response to their heartfelt plea, Venerable HaiZe offered them the assurance they so desperately needed: "Grandma will certainly take you all to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss."
This message was recorded by the Buddha's disciple, Venerable HaiZe, who served as the chief writer.
