Words of Namo Amituofo:

"Go straight ahead!"

This simple yet profound instruction is a subtle method that Practitioner Su constantly uses to remind all disciples of their duty. As the Buddha, I also frequently bring this up in my teachings. If you are a disciple, you should understand the vital importance of this directive. If you can truly follow this path, then given enough time, you will certainly achieve great success in your practice.

The Path of Unwavering Focus

When you are going straight ahead, you must let go of all attachments. Do not dwell on gain or loss. Do not look back at the past, do not waste time planning for the future, do not compare yourself with others, and do not get lost in endless thinking. Instead, you must focus on chanting the Buddha-name. Let the Buddha-name accompany you as you move forward; it is the most effective way to purify your heart and your actions.

In the life of a practitioner, what is truly worth going straight ahead for? It is for the sake of all beings. It is for the following purposes:

  • To save suffering beings from their endless cycles of pain.
  • To perform for those in need.
  • To serve the community with a selfless heart.
  • To engage in diligent practice until you become an awakened being.
  • To support the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre and ensure its smooth operation.
  • To follow the path of saving the world and rescuing beings, as demonstrated by the teachers and Practitioner Su.

The Wisdom of Selflessness

When you approach all these tasks by going straight ahead, acting without personal intention, you are acting as a wise person. To be without desire and without selfishness is to possess a pure and kind heart. When you go straight ahead, you do so without resentment or regret, without demands, and without any lingering attachments.

You must be fearless when facing the various tests that come your way:

  • The tests from the Buddha, which measure your sincerity.
  • The tests from demons, which challenge your resolve.
  • The tests from other beings, which reflect your karmic connections.

You must know that the negative you created in the past is the reason you suffer now. This present moment is the perfect time for repenting and dissolving that karma. You should realise that it is a great fortune to have this body, which is a result of your past karma, and yet still have the opportunity to meet the teachers and Practitioner Su. This is your chance to practise, to repent, to overcome the interference of demons, and to transform your karma.

The Path to

By learning to let go of your physical body and truly feeling the suffering of others, you will find that in the process of dissolving your karma and resolving your difficulties, your Body-Mind-Spirit will be purified. When you go straight ahead through your own efforts, you will naturally receive the Buddha's within that journey.

Continue to chant Namo Amituofo with a straight and focused mind. By doing so, you will attain the skills of the . For a practitioner of the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, this is the time to realise your true nature and become an awakened being. Namo Amituofo.
