Words of Namo Amituofo, recorded and transcribed by Namo Amituofo’s disciple, Venerable HaiZe. On this day, the thirteenth of April, two thousand and twenty-four, we receive the profound guidance of Namo Amituofo regarding the essential practice of letting go to attain the ultimate truth.

The Art of Release

The path to the of Ultimate Bliss is not one of accumulation, but of release. It is through the act of letting go that we make space for the infinite wisdom and of the Buddha to manifest within our own hearts. To truly walk the path of the Buddha, one must be willing to undergo a fundamental transformation of through these intentional releases:

  • Let go of the self-body, and you shall attain the Buddha-body.Let go of selfishness, and you shall attain selflessness.Let go of the 'self', and you shall attain .Let go of ego-attachment and personal views, and you shall attain non-attachment and absolute clarity.Practise Generosity (Giving) to attain wealth; let go of sensory pleasure to attain purity; let go of fame to attain a clear heart.Eat appropriately to attain a healthy body; sleep appropriately to attain a peaceful spirit.

The Path to Liberation

Our lives are often clouded by attachments that keep us trapped in the cycle of rebirth. We must learn to release these burdens to find our way back to our original nature:

  • Let go of 'having', and you shall attain 'nothingness'.Let go of the finite, and you shall attain the infinite.Let go of the 'having-mind', and you shall attain the 'no-mind'.Let go of greed, and you shall attain contentment.Let go of anger, and you shall attain compassion.Let go of ignorance, and you shall attain Wisdom (Prajna).Let go of arrogance, and you shall attain being humble and modest.Let go of doubt, and you shall attain Faith.

Finding Stillness in the Heart

The state of our Body-Mind-Spirit depends entirely on what we choose to hold onto and what we choose to release. If you seek a life of serenity, consider these practices:

  • Let go of pollution, and you shall attain a pure heart.Let go of depression, and you shall attain an open heart.Let go of restlessness, and you shall attain stability and meditative concentration.Let go of confusion, and you shall attain the ability to see through.Let go of grasping, and you shall attain the state of letting go.Let go of the heat of afflictions, and you shall attain cool liberation.Let go of obstacles, and you shall attain freedom and ease.Let go of fullness, and you shall attain emptiness.

We came into this world with nothing, and we shall leave with nothing. When you can let go, do so; do not be stained by the dust of this world. With nothing to do, and mind are light; only the Buddha-name remains as a constant companion. With Body-Mind-Spirit at peace and free from obstacles, you shall see your original nature and illuminate the entire universe. Namo Amituofo.
