The Continuity of the Present

Every moment you experience is an accumulation that forms your current reality. Within this reality, every subsequent moment you live continues to accumulate, eventually shaping your future. Therefore, whether we speak of the past, the present, or the future, all are formed by the accumulation of the present moment. In truth, there is no past, no present, and no future; there is only the present moment. If you can grasp and make good use of every single moment, you will find that you are constantly in a state of diligent practice. When you live this way, the future will naturally unfold as it should, in accordance with the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way.

Cultivating the Heart and Character

The quality and quantity of each moment are a direct manifestation of your heart and your actions. This is why the daily cultivation of your heart and character is of the utmost importance. You must not take any subtle thought lightly. Do not allow even the slightest trace of selfishness, indulgence, or laziness to enter your mind. You must be cautious and mindful of your every word, action, and gesture. In the span of a single thought—a single word, a glance, or a movement—if there is bias, selfishness, or a violation of the , you will inevitably attract and negative . This is the root cause of ageing, illness, drowsy states, and mental agitation, all of which lead to regression in practice and create obstacles on your path.

The Path of Purification

Everything you do must be for the sake of all beings. Your starting point must always be purification, selflessness, and the realisation of . You must listen to sutras and hear the , maintain diligent practice, and strive for breakthroughs. You must change your ways and invite spirits to perform . Only through these actions can you achieve the true purpose of your practice: purification and awakened being. Every Buddhist practitioner should cherish the days spent in this state of purification and continuity.

Diligence at Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre

At the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, where Namo Amituofo truly abides, you must be vigilant and respectful in every moment. Make good use of your time and perform good deeds; never let your time pass by in a state of drowsy emptiness. The dust of this world is not merely ordinary dirt; it is the accumulation of countless lifetimes of suffering. Every speck of dust tells a story of pain, stained with blood and tears. Now that the Fragrant Light has manifested in this world, it is the perfect time to save all suffering beings.

The Essence of Chanting

In this very moment, engage in diligent practice by chanting Buddha's name. Place your palms together at your chest, and ensure that every single Buddha-name you chant is clear and distinct. Let the Buddha-name be clear to your mouth and your ears. When your heart is free of other thoughts and you focus your spirit entirely on the Buddha-name, you reach a state of chanting Buddha's name without chanting Buddha's name, and chanting Buddha's name while in a state of no-thought. This is what it means to be a true practitioner of Namo Amituofo.
