Words of Namo Amituofo, recorded by Venerable HaiZe.
On the sixth of May, 2023, Namo Amituofo offered these teachings regarding the nature of our existence and the path to liberation.
The Cycle of
and the laws of karma and cause and effect follow the spirit as it is reincarnated through the various realms. Before you transform karma, this physical body is merely a vessel for karmic retribution. You have received this body due to your past Causal Conditions and the laws of karma and cause and effect. However, you also possess the potential to transform karma, which in turn alters the future path of your spirit.
The Power of Transformation
How does one transform karma? It requires dedicated practice. You must refine your character and your behaviour; only then is it possible to transform karma. Karma is like a great, relentless whirlpool. It is the power of karma that keeps this whirlpool spinning, never allowing it to rest. It is an incredibly potent force. Once you are pulled into this great whirlpool, it is not easy to escape. Unless, that is, you have a moment of clarity, make an Ultimate Vow, and put it into action. Through the power of this vow, the merit gained, the power to save others, and sincere, heartfelt repenting, you can finally break free from the whirlpool of karma.
Living with Clarity and Autonomy
Practice means making a vow to save all beings and acting upon it, for you yourself are also one of these beings. Since you have the opportunity to transform karma, you must actively seize it. By untying the various knots of attachment, you can realise your true nature, find your original self, and live a life of coolness and freedom. After you have transformed your karma, every word and action you take can be autonomous. You will clearly understand the truth of reality, no longer led astray or confused by the dream-like states of reincarnation.
The Path of the Awakened Being
Most importantly, Those who have realised their true nature possess a holistic view. They can see and hear the suffering endured by all beings and prescribe the right medicine to help them. By helping them leave suffering behind and escape the cycle of reincarnation, and by guiding them to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, you help them attain Buddhahood. Only then is it truly possible to leave suffering behind.
