Namo Amituofo. I am KaiLin. My time in the human world was not long, yet I experienced the full cycle of birth, aging, sickness, and death, just as everyone else does. Like many of you, I spent my years studying, working, and eventually entering the monastic life. I have walked the path alongside many fellow monastics, studying the Buddha’s teachings and spending countless days in diligent practice with the faithful community. When the news of my passing was shared, many were shocked because my departure from this world was so sudden. However, after the final chapter of my life in the human realm was written, I did not immediately reach the . It was through the compassionate intervention of Practitioner Su from the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre—whom we now address as Practitioner Su—that I was guided into the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Looking back at this transition from my current perspective, I realise that my entire spiritual trajectory was transformed simply because I came to know Practitioner Su. Upon arriving in the West, I finally understood that the true value of a human life is not measured by its length, but by the encounters and experiences that lead one toward the Truth.

The Illusion of Monastic Pride

Although I was a monastic, I must confess that I did not possess the unwavering, steadfast faith in Namo Amituofo and the Pure Land that Practitioner Su has demonstrated throughout her journey. The spiritual accomplishments of Practitioner Su are not a matter of luck or coincidence. They are the result of a genuine, step-by-step commitment to the path, with every single stride taken with absolute sincerity. This is something that fills me with deep respect. Often, the arrogance that can arise within a monastic can be hidden behind a facade of outward respect, while in reality, one might look down upon lay practitioners. If one were to view Practitioner Su through such a lens of pride, the loss would be immeasurable. In my time spent with her, I came to realise that Practitioner Su embodies the spirit of a true practitioner even more profoundly than many monastics do. I received many teachings from her, and I have benefited immensely from her guidance. Reflecting on this now, I feel a deep sense of humility and gratitude.

Life in the Land of Eternal Tranquil Light

In the Western Pure Land, every trace of the sorrow, suffering, and melancholy of the human world has been completely washed away. There is no suffering of the mind, and certainly no suffering of ; everything is pure and untainted. In this realm, the fundamental causes of our sins—the , , the pursuit of wealth, lust, fame, food, and sleep, as well as the of greed, anger, ignorance, arrogance, and doubt—do not exist in the slightest. Everything is pure and good. Here, one’s thoughts manifest into reality, and the mind is truly in charge. Even the very air is filled with an elegant and pleasant fragrance. The Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss is truly the highest form of spiritual existence.

A Beacon of Hope: The Village

Today, the news that the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre is preparing to build the Amitabha Village is truly exhilarating! This project is a source of great inspiration. On this land, which serves as a Western Pure Land in the human world, the construction of a residence for those seeking rebirth in the West acts as a vital stepping stone. Everyone who resides there will have the precious opportunity to be guided by Practitioner Su toward rebirth in the Western Pure Land. This is a tangible manifestation of the great, compassionate Ultimate Vow of Namo Amituofo. I sincerely offer my and look forward to all those with karmic affinity hearing this news. I encourage you to join in the effort to build, to reside, and to work together in preparation for the journey to the West, thereby fulfilling the great vow of rebirth in the Western Pure Land. Namo Amituofo.
