This message was recorded on July 27, 2017. Venerable Master Wei Chueh, having sought deliverance through the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia, now resides in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. From that realm, he offers this guidance to his disciples at the Chung Tai Chan Monastery.

Venerable Master Wei Chueh speaks:

"There are only so many kind words in this world. If you spend your life trying to satisfy everyone, then your practice has been in vain; you will have made absolutely no progress. It is impossible for everything to go your way, and it is impossible for everything to be exactly as you wish. Naturally, it is impossible for every word you hear to be a word of praise. Occasionally, you must listen to words of frustration and criticism; these are meant to sharpen your resolve and spur you forward. What the Old Master is saying now, you must listen to."

The Need for Openness and Verification

"I have led many monastic and lay disciples. I understand that the consistent style of Chung Tai has always been conservative. You try your best to avoid external contact, especially out of fear of complications, and your working style is largely to handle matters behind closed doors. I understand this. However, the Abbot, the Deputy Abbot, Venerable Jiandeng, and all the brothers and sisters of the 'Jian' generation should sit down and discuss this properly: Is this message truly coming from the Old Master? I hope you will all consider this carefully. Should you come to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia to witness all of this for yourselves?

The reason they are able to communicate with the Old Master here is that they are sufficiently purified. A purified practice allows one to attain these inherent abilities. These messages are real. As for Venerable Jiandeng, the Old Master still hopes to be of help to you; otherwise, it will be very difficult for the legacy of Chung Tai to achieve rebirth in the Western Pure Land. Everyone, including the lay disciples, should think about this deeply."

A Future of Rising Truth

"The Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre will one day rise to prominence, and these letters will eventually receive the attention they deserve. I hope that before that happens, you will come here to visit and see the Old Master. Right now, there are not too many visitors, but that may not be the case later on. The Old Master is waiting for you all.

You must remember: if you wish for the Buddha’s teachings to flourish, the only way is for monastics to praise other monastics. The reality of these skills should be supported, and you should discuss them together to facilitate diligent practice. You really should listen to the words of the Old Master. Namo Amituofo."
