This is a record of an interview with Lin Jianglong, the father of Lay Practitioner Lin Zhiwei, who sought at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Recorded and transcribed by ’s disciple, Venerable HaiZe, on November 15, 2025.
Lay Practitioner Lin Jianglong speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. I am Lin Jianglong, the father of Lin Zhiwei. Zhiwei, my son, it is truly fortunate that you found your way to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. It is only because of your actions that your father could finally be saved. Otherwise, I would still be wandering in the ghost realm, trapped in that miserable existence. No matter how many Chao Du ceremonies you tried to arrange for your mother and me back in Singapore, I remained a ghost, unable to break free from that cycle of suffering.
But this time, a brilliant light appeared and guided me directly to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. At first, I did not understand what was happening, but now I clearly realise that this is the place where Namo Amituofo abides. It is the only place capable of guiding us to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. To say this is absolutely correct—my wife and I are now here, in this precious, magnificent Western Land."
A Father's Reflection on the Past
"As I speak to you now, my heart is filled with deep emotion. Regardless of how things were when I was alive, being a ghost after death is certainly not a good thing. Please, do not take offence at my words, but I must be honest—those days are all in the past now. Where we reside today is the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, so whether the past was good or bad, it no longer matters. Life is a journey where, in the end, we have nothing to seek. To arrive at such a wonderful place, one could say it is due to the ancestral virtue of our family.
Even though we suffered quite a bit in the ghost realm, the fact that we have been brought here to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss makes all that past suffering fade away. I am incredibly happy, incredibly joyful. I find myself nodding in constant gratitude; my heart is overflowing with thankfulness."
The Debt of Gratitude
"Zhiwei, you must express your deepest gratitude to Namo Amituofo and to Practitioner Su. If it were not for Practitioner Su and the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, both your mother and I would still be trapped in the ghost realm, living as ghosts. Being able to reach the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss is a debt of kindness that we can never fully repay.
I have been looking at you, and I see that your health has been suffering. When you were younger, you were so vibrant and strong, but now you look so thin and frail; the signs of ageing have appeared prematurely. However, now that you have encountered Namo Amituofo, I truly believe that the Buddha will help you recover and restore your health. Seeing that you are living such a fulfilling life at the temple makes me very happy."
The Truth of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre
"The Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre is truly a place where the Buddha resides. It is genuinely capable of guiding the deceased to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. We are living proof of this truth. You must let more people know about the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre so that more spirits can be saved and enter the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Remember, by helping others, you are also helping yourself.
We must be thankful to Namo Amituofo, and we must also thank Practitioner Su and everyone at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. Thank you all. I have said all that I needed to say."
