A Final Message from Beyond: The Wisdom of He Shu

This interview was recorded on November 19, 2021, at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. Lay Practitioner He Shu, the uncle of Venerable Laimiao, sought deliverance through the compassionate guidance of Practitioner Su. Having attained rebirth in the Western Pure Land, he shares his insights on the nature of existence and the vital importance of spiritual practice.

Lay Practitioner He Shu speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am deeply grateful to Practitioner Su and to the many Venerables at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia for granting me the opportunity to live such a pure and serene life here. This place is truly a Pure Land. I can feel the boundless compassion and the powerful blessings of the Buddha. I now understand that this is the sacred ground where all spirits can find true liberation and be guided to rebirth in the Western Pure Land. I am so thankful to Lixiang for bringing me to this place.

A Reunion of Spirits

I should address you now as Venerable Laimiao. I am overjoyed that you have chosen this path; this centre is indeed a genuine Pure Land. In this moment of profound clarity, I can see my own spirit clearly, and I have come to realise the true nature of my cycle of rebirth throughout my many lives. It is only because I had the chance to come here that I was able to transcend the limitations of space and time, and now, I am finally able to speak these words to all of you.

Seeing your dedication to your practice and witnessing your choice to be here—this is truly a tremendous blessing! I am immensely grateful for the Buddha’s compassion in leading you here. My own life, much like the lives of all people in this world, was spent passing through the years. When the time came, my life, too, reached its inevitable conclusion.

The Universal Truth of Impermanence

Human beings are not special in the grand scheme of things. Life is a cycle that everyone must face—birth, aging, sickness, and death. Not a single person can escape these realities. Before the moment of death arrives, people rarely know that their life is ending, nor do they have any idea where they will go next. It was only when I personally experienced these transitions that I truly understood how fleeting our human lives are. What is truly important lies beyond this physical life; it is the level of our spiritual development. Venerable Laimiao, I hope you will remember these words clearly. In every single day you have now, strive to discover this ultimate truth of life.

A Call to Spiritual Duty

In my heart, you will always be that kind-hearted child I once knew. I wish for you to live well, and I hope you will find the direction of the Truth and devote yourself to your practice. This place is your true home. There is no time to waste on coming back to the cycle of rebirth; you must seize the present moment! You must work to elevate your own spirit. This is the experience your uncle has gained through his own journey, and I hope you can understand it—not just to help yourself, but to help all beings. Elevate yourself, fulfil the full potential of your life, and follow Practitioner Su to save even more people.

Only here can you truly save yourself and the beings connected to you. Return to the ranks quickly; there are still so many beings who are in desperate need of salvation.

Whether it is Lixiang or Venerable Laimiao, please practise diligently. Follow the footsteps of the Buddha and join in the mission to save the world. I am He Shu. I am grateful for everything. Namo Amituofo."
