A Final Plea from Venerable Master Chin Kung
An Interview with the Spirit of Venerable Master Chin Kung
Recorded by Venerable HaiZe on July 30, 2022
This interview records a message from the spirit of the late Venerable Master Chin Kung, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. Recorded on July 30, 2022, by Venerable HaiZe, this testimony details the Master's journey from the Avici Hell to the , his profound repentance, and his urgent appeal to his disciple, Venerable Wudao, to recognise the true presence of Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su.
Venerable Master Chin Kung speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. Disciple Wudao, I am your teacher, Chin Kung. It is no small feat that this letter has reached you; it was sent from the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia to Taiwan, and finally into your hands. I ask that you read this entire letter with an open heart. Do not slander it, and do not let doubt take root. Wudao, you have always been a devoted disciple of mine—obedient, diligent, and steadfast. You have followed me through the years, growing and maturing, and today you stand as a pillar of the Pure Land school. This is a testament to your own diligent practice.
The Weight of My Error
Even a practitioner who believes they are diligent in the Buddha’s path, and who feels they have uncovered many hidden truths, may still fall short. The power of the Buddha’s is immeasurable, and the Buddha’s wisdom is unfathomable. Never attempt to measure the Buddha’s heart and actions with your own limited perspective. The Buddha’s state is beyond calculation—it is certainly not something that a practitioner of my shallow level could ever grasp. Because of this arrogance, I made a grave mistake, and as a result, I fell into the Avici Hell. It was only through the power of Practitioner Su’s awakened that I was rescued directly from that hell and brought to the Western Dharma-Nature Land of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. Only then was I finally delivered from that extreme, incessant suffering. This is truly a matter that is difficult to believe, difficult to hear, difficult to contemplate, and difficult to discuss. Practitioner Su is truly an awakened being who has realised her Dharma Body. Through her daily work of delivering countless beings from the spirit realms, she has accumulated such immense merit and virtue that she was able to save me from the Avici Hell.
The True Buddha Among Us
Wudao, we have encountered the true Buddha! Namo Amituofo has truly descended into the human world. This is the greatest achievement of my sixty years of lecturing on the sutras. It is only because Practitioner Su, in her great , holds no grudges and still acknowledges me as her teacher. Namo Amituofo’s presence with Practitioner Su is proof that she is no ordinary being. In this age of the Dharma’s decline, to save sentient beings, one must possess great power, great vows, and great practice. Although Practitioner Su manifests in the form of a lay practitioner, she has transcended the distinctions of gender. Once one has awakened, what they see and hear is as the Buddha sees and hears. Throughout history, the most well-known figure to manifest as a layperson to attain Buddhahood was the layman Vimalakirti. When Shakyamuni Buddha was in the world, he treated the layman Vimalakirti with the highest respect, circumambulating him three times. If one were to say that Practitioner Su is the layman Vimalakirti manifested in the world today, it is entirely possible—it is, in fact, the truth!
A Regretful Past
In truth, I knew of this earlier on. I had an inkling in my heart, but I refused to face it. Later, I even went so far as to exclude Practitioner Su from the Pure Land school. That was a grave sin! While I caused some harm to Practitioner Su, she was able to recover on her own. The real victim of my actions was the Pure Land school itself, as I obstructed countless beings from the great mission of rebirth in the Western Pure Land.
The Power of the
Wudao, since Namo Amituofo is present at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, and under the leadership of Namo Amituofo during the Thrice Yearning Ceremonies, Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su have delivered immeasurable and boundless beings to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss and the heavenly realms. Perhaps the collective merit of sentient beings is insufficient, but at the site of the ceremony, the Buddha’s light shines directly upon them, and the Buddha’s are bestowed. Combined with the inconceivable power of the Buddha’s merit, beings are successfully delivered. This is the magnificence of encountering a living Buddha. It is entirely logical. Without Namo Amituofo, the Universal Buddha, presiding over the Thrice Yearning Ceremony, it would be extremely difficult to deliver beings to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. It is no wonder that the Thrice Yearning Ceremonies led by Practitioner Su, with Namo Amituofo as the lead, are able to deliver countless beings. In this age of the Dharma’s decline, sentient beings are stubborn and difficult to tame. After they pass away, their spirits are no different. If they have not heard the sutras or the Dharma, they are truly difficult to tame. This was one of the reasons for my sixty years of lecturing on the sutras.
A Call to Action
At these ceremonies, spirits arrive from all directions—from this world and others, beings from the six realms, holy beings from the four sacred realms, and even beings from various planets in the Milky Way come of their own accord. The scale of this spiritual deliverance is truly unprecedented. What is most precious is that the Thrice Yearning Ceremonies currently led by Practitioner Su at the temple, held three times a week, use the exact version of the chanting that you, Wudao, have practised. It is deeply moving and captures the hearts of all who hear it. During the ceremonies, many holy beings from the West, celestial beings, and spirits who are being delivered chant along together. It possesses an incredible power of cohesion.
Wudao, every word I speak to you is the truth. In my sixty years of lecturing, I never truly delivered beings to the Western Land. As the leader of the Pure Land school, even when invited by the Buddha, I did not go to see Him. I slandered the Buddha and did not believe in Him. That was a grave sin, and the suffering I endured for it... I have no words. My heart is much calmer now, but I hope you will not follow in my footsteps. This time, please, just believe what your teacher is telling you.
You have always been obedient and filial. Although you would occasionally lose your temper, that is all in the past. Now that you are the leader of the Pure Land school, I hope you will visit the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre to resolve the conflict between yourself and Practitioner Su. Furthermore, Practitioner Su carries the burden of the temple entirely on her own; maintaining the temple in Australia is no easy task. Many lay practitioners, moved by Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su, have taken the to become monks and nuns. Practitioner Su has opened the space between the spirit realms and the Dharma Realm, allowing fellow practitioners who can receive messages from these spaces to share what they hear. This is how my words today have reached your eyes.
The temple has compiled many records of these interviews into books. They are worth your time to read, including interviews with beings from the heavenly realms, the four sacred realms, the demon realms, and even hell guards. There are also records of those who have been sent to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss by Practitioner Su, stories of the holy beings in the Western Land, and the teachings of Namo Amituofo and Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju. This is the growth that Practitioner Su and the monastic community have achieved over these years. There are no other records like these in the world. They are truly helpful for understanding the Universal Principle, the Truth, the Right Way, and the reality of the facts. They are of immense help in broadening one’s mind, cultivating compassion, and increasing wisdom. They are truly worth your visit.
The temple now has monks and nuns, which is no small achievement. I hope you can offer your assistance and engage in exchange. Practitioner Su heals the illnesses of the masses there, allowing beings to accept resolution, and she delivers them to the West. With the blessings of Namo Amituofo, it truly has unique healing effects. You should go and experience it for yourself.
I hope you will personally visit Hsiang Kuang. Because I feel a deep debt to Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su, I hope your visit can resolve the knot between the Pure Land school and Practitioner Su. Practitioner Su’s heart has no knots; it is my heart that was tied in knots. To attain the Buddha’s path, we are all one body—one family, with no distinction between us, is that not so? I hope we can help and learn from one another. Although the various branches of the Pure Land school are independent, there are times when we need each other.
This is what I, Chin Kung, have to say. I hope you will believe it and act upon it.
Namo Amituofo.
Shi Chin Kung, with palms joined.
