A Journey to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss

This is a record of an interview with Fan Yulian, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. She now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon her life and her transition to the Pure Land. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Faxin, on March 11, 2022.

Fan Yulian speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am Yulian. I have finally arrived at the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. As I stand here upon my own lotus flower, I am surrounded by a fragrance so pure and refreshing that it defies description. From the top of my head to the soles of my feet, I feel a sense of lightness that I have never known before. I am filled with such profound gratitude and cherish this Causal Condition, which was so difficult to attain.

A Journey to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss

To be able to reach this state, I must express my deepest thanks for the magnificent Causal Conditions that brought me here. It is truly a miracle of the Dharma that a soul like mine could find such peace. Looking back at my life, the person I am most grateful to is my employer, Lay Practitioner Ye Qianxian. She was always there to extend a helping hand, providing me with the support I needed to feel secure and at ease. I struggle to find the words to express the depth of my gratitude. Even though we shared no blood ties, she treated me as if I were a member of her own family. It was such a stroke of good fortune for me to have had that job, and I cherished every moment of it. I never imagined that life would be so short, that it would pass by in the blink of an eye, and that in the end, I would still have to face the sorrow of parting.

Stepping Off the Stage of Life

When my spirit was called to the Dharma-Nature Land, there was a sudden, brilliant explosion of light. The Buddha-light shone upon me, leading me forward. As I looked around, I found myself in an environment that brought an immediate sense of calm to my heart, allowing me to finally let go of all my worries. Before I heard the teachings of the Buddha, I did not understand these truths that transcend the world. I was still clinging to thoughts of you, my employer, and my family, because those were the only things I possessed in this life. It was only after some time that I realised I had been performing in one life-drama after another. Now, I have finally stepped off the stage. To have my final exit occur here, in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, is a perfect conclusion to my journey.

A Final Message to Loved Ones

Today, as I stand here in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, I kneel and bow in gratitude to you, who helped me so much. I will never forget your kindness. Your heart has always been so good, and now that you have encountered the Buddha and this magnificent Dharma, I truly hope that your life continues to improve. Please follow the footsteps of the Buddha, and may your heart always find a place of rest. I wish you good health, and I look forward to the day we meet again in the Western Land.

I also ask that you please inform my family that I am doing very well. I have gone to a wonderful place called the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. If they have the Causal Conditions, I hope they will spend time chanting Namo Amituofo. I am truly grateful for everything. Namo Amituofo."
