A Journey to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss

This is a record of an interview with Xie Qiu Yuchi, who sought Chao Du at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. She now resides in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon her transition from the cycle of rebirth to the Pure Land. Recorded and transcribed by Namo Amituofo’s disciple, Venerable HaiZe, on November 15, 2025.

Lay Practitioner Xie Qiu Yuchi speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I have already arrived here, and I have been waiting for you. I am currently in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. In the past, I had only heard that this world was a place for the dead, but I never imagined it could be this magnificent! I am so incredibly fortunate to have the blessings to enter this realm. I am deeply grateful to my daughter-in-law, Lin Lichun, for performing the Chao Du for both of us elders. This is truly a testament to her filial piety."

The Reality of the Spirit Realm

"It is a very common thing for people to become spirits after death, but let me tell you, being a spirit offers very little hope. It was such a stroke of good fortune that the Chao Du brought me to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. The temple is filled with such brilliant light; that is simply how it is where the Buddha resides—it is truly wonderful. To think that after the Chao Du concluded, I would be guided to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss! Such a marvelous thing—this is a place of pure joy. Just seeing it makes me so happy; even now, I cannot stop smiling from ear to ear. I am so blessed to have the karma to be here."

A Message to the Living

"Lichun, listen to me! A person's life is full of ups and downs; you will encounter both good and bad things. When you encounter good things, it is because we have done good deeds and are receiving the fruits of those blessings. If you encounter something unpleasant, just endure it, and it will pass. No matter what happens while you are in the world, it passes by so quickly. There is no need to be overly calculating or attached to things in this life. Whether things are good or bad, it really doesn't matter in the end. Now that I have entered the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, everything is perfect. My body feels so light, I have no illnesses or pain, and my spirit is incredibly vibrant."

The Power of Karmic Affinity

"This place is truly magnificent, and I am so thankful to you. If you had not helped us perform the Chao Du, there is no way I could have ever entered this realm on my own. In a sense, this is because I have a karmic affinity with the Buddha, but that connection was bridged by you, Lichun. You were the one who created the conditions that allowed me to meet Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su, which is the only reason I was able to come here."

Letting Go of the Past

"The things I did while I was alive in the world have become completely unimportant now. The most important thing is that I am here, in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. The past is the past, and it is gone forever."

A Life of Golden Light

"The scenery here is breathtakingly beautiful. Everything is bathed in golden light, and the sky is so bright. Everyone here looks so kind and compassionate, and everyone is smiling. It seems that life here is truly wonderful, and I am going to settle down right here. I am so grateful to Namo Amituofo, I am grateful to Practitioner Su, and I am grateful to all of you. Namo Amituofo."
