This is a record of an interview with the spirit of Venerable Fu Hui, who sought at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. She now resides in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This message is addressed to the current head of the Daxingshan Temple at Mount Jiuhua. It was recorded by the chief writer, Practitioner Cao Rudi, on July 21, 2017.

Venerable Fu Hui speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. The crowds at Mount Jiuhua are immense, and most of them come burdened by the suffering of illness, desperately seeking liberation. During my time there, I did my best to offer what little help I could, hoping to assist them in finding peace of body and mind. Yet, I failed to truly expound the profound meaning of the Buddha’s teachings. Though the valleys were filled with faithful followers, it was an empty success.

It was only upon arriving at the precious Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre that I was able to turn my gaze toward the Western Pure Land. I must now bow in gratitude to the Buddha and proclaim this truth widely. You must believe in the sincerity of my words."

The Illusion of the Physical Form

"The number of pilgrims coming to Mount Jiuhua is staggering. You see bus after bus arriving, one after another. Each devotee carries a different hope in their heart, clutching their buckets, carefully carrying the Great Water they have so piously requested, praying for the healing of their illnesses or for peace in their lives. There are even those so devout that they perform a full-body pilgrimage, bowing every step of the way from the foot of the mountain to the temple. People truly believe that the masters who save the world can help them leave suffering behind and gain happiness, or that their ailing bodies will improve simply by drinking the Great Compassion Water.

Today, I must tell you all: this physical body is false. In this life, perhaps we only have this one chance to be human. We must strive for rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss; only then can we truly leave suffering behind and gain ultimate happiness. When I was alive, I did not lecture on the sutras or teach the . It was only after coming to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre and hearing Practitioner Su explain the sutras that I truly understood: the entire universe is an organic whole, and everything within it is a manifestation of reincarnated spirits. If we fail to seek rebirth in the Western Pure Land in this lifetime, every one of us will be subject to the laws of , turning and spinning through the cycle of rebirth. It is absolutely terrifying! Absolutely terrifying!"

A Call to the Leadership

"I also wish to speak to the current head of the temple. Whether the Daxingshan Temple at Mount Jiuhua is currently operating as a new or old place of group cultivation, or if the two have merged, you must never forget that saving beings was the original purpose and mission of the temple's founding. You must let go of personal opinions, fame, and profit. As long as an action benefits the masses and teaches people to walk the path of Goodness, you need not worry about bearing the weight of negative karma for your personal cultivation.

I sincerely hope that the leaders of both locations will believe that these are the words I, Fu Hui, wish to share from the Western Pure Land. I long to meet with you. The expectations and hopes that the devotees place upon Mount Jiuhua make me feel that the heavy burden on my shoulders has not yet been lifted. When I departed the human world, I was in the second heaven of the Desire Realm, but it was the compassionate guidance of Practitioner Su at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre that led me to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss."

The True Cultivation of Hsiang Kuang

"Although Practitioner Su is a lay practitioner, her personal cultivation and adherence to the are more rigorous than those of many monastics. I sincerely hope that the two leaders will come to visit the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia and meet with me. We can discuss how the Daxingshan Temple might find better methods to lead the devotees who trust us to truly achieve rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Come and see for yourselves what kind of great cultivation exists here that allows for a direct journey to the West, with Namo Amituofo himself abiding at the temple and all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas joining together to protect this place.

I also intend to participate in the held here. Practitioner Su, in her compassion, has opened a skillful means that allows us, even though our spirits reside in the West, to still contribute our humble efforts to participate in the Dharma assembly. Through the Chao Du and guidance of Practitioner Su, the spirits connected to Mount Jiuhua can also achieve rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This is a true bodhimanda that benefits both the living and the deceased. You must cherish this moment and seize the opportunity. I am here, waiting for you to come.

Namo Amituofo."
