This is a record of an interview with Cheng Genlian, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. She now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon her recent transition and her message to her daughter, Lay Practitioner Xu Meijuan. Recorded by the chief writer, Fa Ning, on January 30, 2026.

Cheng Genlian speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am Cheng Genlian, and I have finally arrived at the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss! It was only a short while ago that Practitioner Su performed a single act of deliverance, guiding seven of us together toward this magnificent realm. And now, we are truly here, resting in the light of the Buddha.

The Radiant Arrival

The sight before my eyes is beyond anything I could have imagined. Namo Amituofo stands before us, towering and majestic, radiating a brilliant golden light that is filled with such immense, boundless . This was the very first thing we witnessed upon our arrival in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. We were guided onto lotus flowers, and there was not a single moment of discomfort or hesitation. It felt so natural, so incredibly comfortable, and so profoundly peaceful. All seven of us immediately bowed our heads in reverence to Namo Amituofo. We are filled with such deep, overwhelming gratitude—gratitude beyond words—that Namo Amituofo granted us this precious opportunity to continue the Buddhist affinity we planted throughout your many lives, allowing us to finally, perfectly, return home in this lifetime.

A Mother's Heartfelt Message

Looking back at the world I left behind, I see things so clearly now, especially after my time in the Western Land of Nature. First, I want to speak to my daughter, Meijuan. You are so incredibly fortunate to be following Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su to learn the Buddha’s teachings. This is your great blessing, and it is my blessing as well. My dear daughter, please do not feel sad because your mother once fell into the hells. Instead, you should feel truly happy for me, knowing that I am here in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss at this very moment! You must be happy for me! Falling into the hells is simply a matter of cause and effect. Everything in this universe is governed by the laws of and cause and effect.

The Reality of

You should understand this truth of cause and effect clearly. By staying close to Practitioner Su to learn, even if you have not yet met her in person, you are listening to sutras and hear the Dharma. You should know that karma is unfailing. My descent into the hells was not a surprise; there were clear signs before I passed away. My body grew frail, I suffered from illness, and I even vomited blood in my final moments. All of these were clear indications that my had long since come to collect their debts. Beyond the negative causes I planted in past lives, there was also the condition of this current life—I failed to change my personality. I did not truly strive to be a good person from the depths of my heart, and that is why I faced such a result.

The Precious Opportunity of the Dharma

But all of that is in the past now, and we should not dwell on it too much. Life in this age of the Dharma’s decline is truly difficult. The world today is so heavily polluted; tell me, who does not suffer from illness, and who does not grow old and die? Only by coming to know the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre can one understand the truth that human beings can be free from illness and old age, right? So, you must listen to your mother’s words. Since you have encountered this great Dharma, do not let this wonderful opportunity slip through your fingers. You can truly practise the Buddha’s teachings, truly resolve the cycle of birth and death, and be reborn in the Western Pure Land. You can start preparing for this right now. It begins by cultivating a heart just like the Buddha’s—a heart of the same compassion, the same kindness, and the same goodness. If you do this, you too will have the opportunity to be reborn in the Western Pure Land, and perhaps even become a Buddha.

Now that I am here in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, looking back at all my past lives and everything that happened in this current life, my heart is completely clear. Being born as a human is truly a rare and precious thing! And if, while living as a human, one can encounter the Buddha’s teachings, that is even more extraordinary and valuable. For all of this, we must be eternally grateful for the Buddha’s compassion.

Namo Amituofo."
