From the Depths of Suffering to Eternal Peace

In the of Ultimate Bliss, the suffering that defines the human world simply does not exist. I truly hope that my entire family can eventually join me here to begin a new life, free from the burdens of the past. My name is Wu Yuntang. My son is Wu Richang, and my daughter is Shi Fawei. I am deeply grateful that I brought these two children into the world. It was my daughter who brought my son to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, and it was through their connection that I was saved.

During my life, I possessed a volatile temper. Because of the negative I accumulated, after my passing, I fell into the realm of snakes. It was Practitioner Su who compassionately rescued me from that path, bringing me to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre to listen to the and chant the name of the Buddha. Through this guidance, I was finally able to reach the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.

The of the Pure Land

Before I passed away, I had never even heard of such a magnificent place. To be able to arrive here after death is truly the greatest blessing I have cultivated over many lifetimes. This place is beyond description; it is perfect in every way. Here, we do not worry about food or clothing, and there is no need to toil for money. In my previous life, I was easily angered, and whenever things did not go my way, I would lash out. My family suffered greatly because of my influence. I knew my temper was destructive, but I found it impossible to change. Since arriving here, however, that anger has completely vanished. Now that I reside in a world without worry, I finally understand the meaning of gratitude. I offer my deepest thanks to Namo Amituofo, to Practitioner Su of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, and to my dear children.

A Father's Heartfelt Repentance

My wife followed me through many hardships, and for that, I am truly sorry. I want to tell her that I am deeply regretful and ask for her forgiveness. As a father, I was not a good example; I often drank, which caused great pain to my wife and children, leaving everyone to live in constant fear. If my wife had not been the pillar of our home, we would have long since drifted apart. Now that she is older, I hope my children will treat her with the utmost filial piety. She must learn to take care of herself, and I hope she can let go of her worries regarding the children and grandchildren. One only finds true happiness when one learns to release these attachments. Just as I have found peace here, I hope my wife can also come to this place to enjoy true happiness.

The Path to True

I want to tell my wife that simply watching television will not lead her to this place. She must chant the name of Namo Amituofo. Only by chanting can one reach the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Here at the temple, everyone is constantly chanting, and I join them in this practice. Even now, as I reside in the West, I continue to chant, and the sound is truly beautiful. The suffering of the human world is nowhere to be found here. I pray that our entire family can eventually gather here to live a new life.

A Final Plea to My Son

I have more to say to my son, Ah Chang. Practitioner Su mentioned that you were to bring your wife and children here in August, but why have you not yet arrived? You must not hinder their progress. Bringing them here allows them to plant good roots and listen to the teachings of the Buddha. Only then will your children be well-behaved, listen to your guidance, and stay on the right path. I have seen that Practitioner Su is exceptionally skilled at teaching children. It was the Buddha who saved both you and your father. If your mother could come as well, it would be even better. Do you truly want them to wander aimlessly in the future, suffering a fate as miserable as mine once was?

Even if you are busy earning a living, you must remember that you need your life to enjoy the fruits of your labour. You must support Practitioner Su and listen to the teachings. I have heard that the temple is planning to build an Amituofo Village, and you must do your utmost to help. Especially for your mother, she must come here so that she does not have to suffer any longer. This message was recorded by the Buddha's disciple, Venerable HaiZe.
