A Politician's Revelation from the Beyond

An Interview with the Late Jimmy Sullivan of Queensland

Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre11 min read0 views

This is a record of an interview with Jimmy Sullivan, a former Queensland Labor politician who served as the Member for Stafford and Assistant Minister for Justice and Veterans' Affairs. He passed away on April 9, 2026, at the age of forty-four. Following his time in the brain-gouging hell, he was rescued and brought to the at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia on May 26, 2026. This interview was recorded by Venerable Shi Fa Ru on May 29, 2026.

Jimmy Sullivan speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I never expected that the Buddha would call upon me, of all people, to be one of the first representatives from Australia to be interviewed. In my life, I was certainly quite comfortable speaking in front of crowds, but I never imagined that I would be chosen as one of the early voices to share this experience.

In truth, I have only been in this place for two or three days. At first, I was still suffering in the brain-gouging hell, and the agony of that experience is still so vivid in my mind that I can recall it with terrifying clarity. Yet, this only serves to highlight the magnificence of this place; I never thought it would be possible for my torment to be brought to an end. Back in that hell, my brain was constantly being gouged out, and after I died, I would be revived only to suffer the same fate again. The process was so excruciating that my remained in a state of constant, murky confusion. I only remember a sense of overwhelming, intense pain, and I had no idea what was actually happening to me."

A Modern Sanctuary in the Australian Bush

"After I was finally brought up from that hell, I arrived at the Western -Nature Land of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. It turns out that this is a Buddhist temple. I had never imagined that a Buddhist temple could have such a scale. In such a remote part of Australia, to find a temple with such modern facilities—it is quite different from the traditional Chinese architecture I had envisioned. Everywhere I look, there are these clean, white buildings.

Before I passed away, I had never heard of this temple. It is truly astonishing to realise that it was so close to the Stafford electorate that I was responsible for and campaigned in. It is such a pity that I did not have the opportunity to connect with this temple while I was still alive. However, this also suggests that I have a very deep karmic connection with this place. After all, we were both in Australia, both in Queensland—it is truly a remarkable coincidence."

The Clarity of the Buddha-Light

"Now that I have arrived at the Western Dharma-Nature Land, I have gradually begun to regain my clarity. As the light here—which is so powerful, yet so gentle and bright—continues to shine upon me, I am becoming more and more lucid. The dizzying, muddled feeling I had in hell has vanished, replaced by a clarity I have never known before. I am now able to observe everything here with a completely sober and clear mind.

The daily routine here is vastly different from anything I have experienced elsewhere. The daily workload is immense, and the schedule begins at 1:30 AM every single morning. I never thought a Buddhist practice group could be so diligent and proactive. The fact that this place truly possesses the ability to rescue spirits from hell has completely broadened my horizons.

After I passed away, I did pray to God and to various deities, hoping to be released from the suffering of hell. I knew I had done wrong, but I was unable to escape until two or three days ago when I was finally rescued. Only now, with a more stable heart, am I able to speak with everyone."

The Hidden Pressures of a Successful Life

"In truth, human life is truly filled with suffering. Look at me—I passed away at such a young age. Although there was still so much potential for me to achieve, the setbacks in life often far outweigh the accomplishments. Moments of glory are always fleeting; the majority of our time is spent navigating through frustrations and struggles.

While some people might not see it that way—believing their own lives to be relatively successful—my observation is that no matter how successful a person may be, there is always an indescribable pain and pressure hidden behind the scenes. I was no exception. I truly never expected that because of these things, I would pass away at such a young age.

I also want to say to my wife: please, do not worry about me too much. If you truly wish to see me, you can come to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. It is not far from our home, and it is very convenient to visit. But the most important thing is whether you are willing to believe, and whether you are willing to face the truth with an open mind."

Death is a New Beginning

"Many people do not understand the spiritual world, nor do they know the reality of what happens after the soul departs . At first, I did not understand either; I thought that when a person died, that was the end of it—there would be no further changes. But I now realise that death is merely a new beginning. To exist in this world as a spirit, one must find a place where one can survive.

Because of the I created and everything I did while I was alive, I first went to hell to suffer retribution after I died. It was only after I was rescued by the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre that I understood all of this. It turns out that the world of spirits is what is truly important. A short human life cannot last; while we are in the present, we are always so attached to everything we possess and everything we feel. But in reality, once you become a spirit, none of those things are of any use."

The Path to Namo Amituofo

"If you are interested in the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre and what happened to me after I died, you might want to search for 'Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre' online to get a better understanding of the temple's operational philosophy and guiding principles. This temple is actually quite famous; it is a temple where Namo Amituofo resides. If you drive along the highway from Brisbane to Toowoomba, you can see the billboard set up by the temple, which features a very large image of Namo Amituofo.

I was the one rescued by this very Namo Amituofo and brought into the temple. There is a world here that is incredibly clean, bright, and beautiful. I no longer have to worry about being attacked, nor do I have to suffer the pain of having my brain gouged out. I am living in a state of great peace and tranquility.

Every day here, I listen to a teacher known as Practitioner Su explain the Buddhist sutras. Although I did not understand much at first, I have begun to gradually grasp the teachings regarding human beings, the Buddha's teachings, and the nature of the Dharma. I am slowly coming to understand why I ended up in hell to suffer retribution."

The Law of Cause and Effect

"Initially, I believed that everything I did was reasonable, fair, and just. However, I now understand that as soon as there is any deviation, one will end up in hell to suffer. This is the governing principle of this world. When you are being judged in hell, there is no room for excuses; every single thing you have done will be clearly and completely reflected back upon you. Here in the temple, I listen to the teachings every day, and these are the truths I am learning. These truths are spoken by the very large, golden, and radiant Buddha known as Namo Amituofo.

Although I do not yet fully comprehend the entirety of these profound teachings, I have gradually come to understand that this wisdom does not come from outward exploration, nor is it the result of scientific analysis or the study of phenomena. Rather, it is a set of truths that are in harmony with nature—truths that one naturally comes to understand as one aligns with them."

The Magnificence of the

"In this place called the Western Dharma-Nature Land, I have watched the Thrice Yearning Ceremonies. The process of this ceremony truly left me dumbfounded. Participating in the ceremony are many high-level spirits from the distant Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, as well as many manifestations of Practitioner Su, and souls from various spaces. Everyone participates in this grand event together. The Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, as far as I know, is a world of immeasurable light, radiating a very dazzling and incomparably warm golden light—this is what is called the Buddha-light. It pierces through the clouds and reaches the temple directly, allowing the and spirits of the netherworld surrounding the temple to enter the light and, consequently, stop their seeking of revenge.

I truly never expected that the number of people I had harmed in my life had accumulated to such an extent, and that they all existed in this world in the form of spirits. As soon as they heard that I had been rescued from hell by the temple, they immediately came to the temple and waited on the sidelines, wanting to take their revenge on me. This was a situation I had never been aware of."

A Call to Action

"Looking back now, I understand that everything in my life was influenced by the karmic creditors within me, and that my passing at such a young age was also due to the control of these karmic creditors. After seeing the temple and learning that it is a place led by Namo Amituofo to save the world, and that it specializes in solving the various problems of spirits in the human realm, I finally understood why I was rescued from hell. I see the people here in the temple working diligently every day to help sentient beings, especially Practitioner Su and the salvation team. They do not dare to be the slightest bit negligent. The reason for this is to help us suffering souls so that, one day, we may truly escape the cycle of rebirth and end our endless suffering.

The reason Practitioner Su was able to be rescued is that Practitioner Su hopes more people will come to know the temple, know Namo Amituofo, and further study the education that Namo Amituofo wishes to teach humanity. Because people today lack Buddhist education, most do not understand what selfishness is, nor do they understand how these selfish beliefs harm themselves, causing them to enter hell after their lives end. If one could learn the Buddha's teachings early and understand these principles, one could avoid entering hell to suffer.

This is why Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su are so proactive in wanting everyone to know about Buddhist education; this is a very important mission for the temple in saving all of humanity. Since I was rescued from hell and brought to this pure, bright, and stable place, I also understand that I was not brought here by chance. It is hoped that through my influence, more people will have the opportunity to learn the Buddha's teachings. Therefore, I understand that I should contribute my part. After all, if the temple had not rescued me, I would still be suffering in hell at this very moment. This is not to blame anyone; after all, every bit of this is karma I created myself, and it must be repaid."

An Invitation to the Truth

"Upon arriving at the Western Dharma-Nature Land, I realised that beyond the suffering in hell, there are still immeasurable and boundless beings with whom I have karmic debts waiting for me. Once I left the suffering of hell, they immediately came in pursuit. Thinking of this, I cannot help but feel shocked. I never expected that the pursuit of these karmic creditors in the invisible realm would be so urgent and intense. If not for the protection of the temple, and the temple's help in inviting these karmic creditors to the Western Dharma-Nature Land as well, I do not know what kind of pain I would suffer if they found me again, or what kind of behavior I would be controlled into performing.

So, my dear wife, if you have the opportunity to see this interview transcript, or if you have the opportunity to learn about the temple, it could truly save many people. Regardless of what happened before, I sincerely implore you here: even if you have some doubts, it would not hurt to gain a deeper understanding of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. You can search for this temple online, or you can inquire about it. This famous Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre has a large billboard on the highway from Brisbane to Toowoomba, with the name of a Buddha written on it—Namo Amituofo—telling everyone that human beings can actually not grow old, not get sick, and the spirit does not die.

This temple is truly working diligently to manage and save these spirit realm beings; the average person may not understand the situation. But now that I have truly been rescued from hell, I can testify to everyone that this is truly a charitable organization that is helping spirits and souls escape suffering.

If you have the opportunity to believe, or if you are willing to listen and understand the temple, you might as well come for a visit. You can contact the temple; the temple welcomes you to come and learn at any time. It is located in Goombungee, Toowoomba, Queensland, and is called the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. You can learn more online and take the initiative to contact the temple. If you are willing to come, I am always here waiting for you, and I am always able to talk with you. If you are willing to see me again, why not make a trip to the temple? I am truly here in person. Namo Amituofo."
