Awakening from the Nightmare of Samsara

This is a record of an interview with Ding Xiuying, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. She now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon her transition from the cycle of rebirth to the Pure Land. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Faxi, on March 4, 2022.

Lay Practitioner Ding Xiuying speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I never imagined that I would experience such a profound transformation. I had no idea that life could undergo such a radical change. The cycle of rebirth—samsara—is truly, truly terrifying!

It was only after I had lived through my own life's journey and experienced the transition beyond that I truly saw the reality of things. Before I was rescued, my heart was completely lost in a fog. I did not even know where I was; I only knew that I was trapped in a state of constant suffering. It was like a nightmare from which I could never wake up. I have no idea how much time passed in that state, but eventually, I arrived at this place. The Buddha-light of Namo Amituofo shone upon me, illuminating my life once more and finally waking me from that long, dark dream.

The Weight of Karmic Debt

It was only then that I realised how much suffering exists within the cycle of rebirth. I finally understood that my own karma was incredibly heavy. I had owed so many people, and I had accumulated so many debts. If someone had told me this while I was still alive, I would never have been able to comprehend it. It was completely beyond my understanding at the time.

I am deeply grateful to my junior, a young woman with such a kind and gentle heart. She is getting on in years now—time truly passes so quickly. Everyone must learn to cherish their time and treasure the Causal Conditions they encounter right now! Qianxian, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for paving this path for me. I truly hope that you will continue to lead those around you, guiding them forward along this path of light.

The Magnificence of the Dharma

The Dharma talks given by Practitioner Su are truly magnificent! Everyone must come to learn, to practise at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia, to change themselves, and to liberate themselves from their own karma. Before I witnessed this for myself, I had no idea that every single person carries such heavy karma. Now that we have encountered such a wonderful place, everyone should treasure it. You must actively seize this opportunity to save yourselves and to save all other beings as well.

I am so incredibly happy to have arrived here in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss today. I am filled with gratitude for Practitioner Su, and I am grateful to everyone who helped me along this journey. I wish for everyone to be well. I hope that all of you will come to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, for this is the only place where one can truly find liberation and leave suffering behind forever.
