The Invitation to Wisdom

On the thirteenth day of September in the year 2017, the disciple Shi Faxi respectfully invited Namo Amituofo to bestow teachings upon the assembly. With a heart full of reverence, the disciple sought guidance on the nature of the -heart and the path to true liberation.

Namo Amituofo graciously provided the following teachings, illuminating the way for all who seek to return to their original, pure nature.

The Clarity of the Original Nature

What we call personality is merely a construct of the mind. If you act in accordance with the Dharma, you will receive the fruits of the Dharma. When your mind is clear and bright, it contains no hidden residues or attachments. A compassionate smile and a countenance reflecting the Dharma are signs of a spirit that is free from even the slightest stain of pollution. This is the path of ultimate purity and solemnity, where the spirit shines with the clarity of the Dharma.

The greatest treasure in this world is the possession of great wisdom and goodness. By acting with such subtlety, you seek the original, peaceful purity of your own nature. Follow the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, and correct your habits so that they align with the Right Way. The path of the Dharma is a long journey, and you must practise it with consistency and devotion.

Refining the Heart

To walk the path of the Dharma, you must let go of habitual patterns and the constraints of your personality. Humble your heart before the Honoured One. You must refine your heart with great care, washing away every thread of dust that has accumulated over lifetimes. When the dust is removed, the heart naturally becomes bright and luminous. It is only because of this dust that we are led into confusion and darkness. Removing this dust is simple; once it is gone, you will see your own bright, original heart.

If the ego within your nature is absent, it becomes easy to be direct and pure in your actions. Your conduct will then be bright and spiritual. You must understand the speed of this path; when you are truly awakened, you possess the wisdom of the Tathagata and clearly understand the practice.

The Path of Righteousness

Do not deviate in your practice. Walk the path of righteousness with a firm and steady heart. This path reveals the Dharma-heart, a heart that is completely free from pollution. When you awaken in the midst of your practice, that is clear and pure. Practise the Dharma truthfully, and your heart will not waver. When there are no waves of thought, there is no difference or pollution. Personality is like a burial ground that obstructs the Dharma-heart; you must transcend it.

A clear heart, free from error, is the true proof of your practice. Practising the path is the true, pure Great Dharma. The fruit of the is the awakening of the Tathagata's home. The Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss is pure, and the Dharma-land is clean.

Rebirth and the Lotus

Seek rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss to be truly liberated. You will no longer be bound by the cycle of rebirth. The fires of desire in the six realms of existence will be extinguished, and your purity will increase. The pure Dharma nourishes the lotus, and the lotus emerges from the mud. When the mud of worldly attachment is gone, your original nature appears in its true form.

  • The True Nature:
  • This is your original heart, the great awakening. The Great Vehicle:
  • This awakening rides the Great Vehicle, like the clear water of the Dharma-nature.The Tathagata: The Buddha's awakening heart is the Tathagata. Once you see the Tathagata, you attain the right fruit of the Tathagata.

The Tathagata is the heart itself. When you leave behind pollution and desire, you seek the West and are born on a lotus. The Buddha's teachings enter the heart through awakening, righteousness, and purity. Awaken without confusion; be righteous without being crooked. Be pure without pollution. The Buddha's path is the path of awakening—it is pure, white, and without dust. Your nature is originally the Tathagata. All Buddhas have attained this, and all are Tathagatas. This pure lotus land is here, at Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre.
