The Great Teacher: Finding Wisdom in All Things
Teachings from Namo Amituofo
Recorded on September 29, 2017

On the twenty-ninth of September, 2017, the disciple Faxin respectfully invited Namo Amituofo to provide compassionate teachings for all beings. Namo Amituofo graciously offered the following guidance to illuminate our path.
The Lessons of the Natural World
The breeze blows gently, clearing the dust from the heart. The light illuminates the vast earth. Every drop of dew that forms is a lesson for the soul, passing by like flowing water. The Truth resides in all things; they are all great teachers. They possess the power to turn stone into gold and to transform the heavy burdens of the past into the wisdom of the present.
The grass teaches us resilience; the wind teaches us freedom. We walk upon this earth, following the conditions of our , often without even realising the depth of our own existence. When you open your mind-capacity to be as boundless as the universe, you will see that space and time are merely containers for our experiences.
The Roles We Play in Samsara
We are like actors in a grand play, performing the roles we have been assigned by our past actions. The slides of our lives change constantly. At one moment, you may be a person of great virtue; at the next, you may find yourself in the position of a beggar. All of these circumstances are simply the fruits of the causes we have sown.
These experiences are all accumulations of merit. In truth, your heart contains the wisdom of the vast ocean. If you can awaken your innate Goodness now, you will see that every being possesses a pure and original nature. A mind that is flexible and alive is far better than one that is trapped in fixed patterns. You are here for the sake of all beings, not merely to follow the pull of your own karmic habits.
The Illusion of Personal Gain
In this current life, you must learn to act without the weight of selfish desire. Your journey through the human world is but a blink of an eye. If you can be like a dragonfly lightly touching the surface of the water, the nectar of the will manifest. If you do not, the winds of worldly affairs will blow, and you will find yourself acting entirely for your own benefit.
You may not realise that this selfishness harms your own spiritual body. You may be laughing in triumph, thinking you have gained an advantage, but in reality, you have lost everything. When you finally bend down to pick up what you think is a treasure, you find only broken fragments before you. You feel regret and wonder why this has happened, and thus, your heart becomes burdened with new attachments.
Transforming into Wisdom
If your wounds have not yet healed, it is because your old habits are constantly manifesting. You must face these challenges directly. Do not shrink away; instead, take a firm step forward. Do not fear the wind and rain that may come your way. Your only task is to purify your own body, mind, and spirit.
When you successfully transform your consciousness into wisdom, the brilliant light of the Buddha will shine clearly before you, guiding you home to the of Ultimate Bliss. Recorded by the Buddha's disciple, Shi Faxi.
