On September 25, 2017, the disciple Faxin respectfully invited Namo Amituofo to provide compassionate teachings regarding the nature of human existence.

The Subtle Flow of the

The Dharma is subtle and magnificent, flowing like a stream that never ceases. It is light, empty, and profound. Every thought we hold can be dissolved into the vastness of the void, just as the earth’s capacity is vast enough to contain all things. Observe the world around you: the wind sways the trees, the rain falls upon the forest, and birds fly freely through the sky. In this stillness, all things return to their source. , , and Selfless Giving are always present if we but look with a clear heart.

The Loss of Original Innocence

Consider the newborn child. When they first open their eyes to this human world, their face is bright, pure, and transparent. They are clean and untainted. Yet, as they learn to crawl and walk, they cling to their mother and begin to develop attachments to objects. They become stained by the dust of the world and the habits of society. They lose their way, not knowing what is right or wrong, simply following the environment around them. They become accustomed to this, and gradually, their faces grow grey and weary. They lose their true selves without even realising it. Their bodies ache, their spirits fade, and they accept the cycle of birth, aging, sickness, and death as the norm.

The Restless Heart in the Cycle of Samsara

They burn incense and pray to the Buddha for peace of mind, yet their hearts remain turbulent and restless. They ask, "Which path should I take?" The answer is simple: the only path is the path of practice. How many truly achieve this? Subduing one's own personality is difficult, but the path is the supreme Dharma. In this Dharma-ending age, this is the only path to ultimate success. Do not wait until you are a wandering spirit, crying and lost, to seek the way. Let your stubbornness melt like ice into flowing water. Bow your head in humility and let go of your arrogance. Why hold onto jealousy? When you realise there is no separation, you will see that all beings are one.

The Urgent Call to Return Home

Seek only to return to the Western Pure Land. Do not hesitate, for life passes in the blink of an eye. Before you know it, you are fifty, and illness follows. Your eyes grow dim, your teeth loosen, and you rely on others just to drink a bowl of porridge. What is the purpose of life? Is it merely to wait for death? Once you enter the cycle of the underworld, there is no turning back. Namo Amituofo is waiting for you, His child. If you call out to Him, He will rescue you. Do not cling to your own views; let go of for your own benefit. Light the lamp of your heart; let it shine for yourself and for all beings. Life passes like a dream, and if you do not awaken, you will only repeat the same journey.

Do not let the beings you encounter bind you to this world. Keep your spirit light and your wisdom clear. Walk the path home. You do not need to wear a crown of thorns; you only need to hold the Buddha-name. Your heart will naturally become clear and transparent. Among the countless suffering beings, there are many who need to be rescued. With one call of the Buddha-name, Namo Amituofo will reach out His hands to welcome you.

Recorded by the Buddha's disciple, Shi Faxin.
