Having been liberated from the profound suffering of the hells through the filial piety of his family and the compassionate guidance of Practitioner Su, he now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Lay Practitioner Xu Xianlong speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. I am Xu Xianlong. Today, I am filled with such immense to be here. This place is the very same Western Land of Ultimate Bliss that I heard so much about while I was at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. It seems that the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre is truly a sacred place, specifically dedicated to guiding beings to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss.
This time, I finally summoned the courage to accept the guidance of Practitioner Su, who offered to lead us to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. You see, I had been living at the temple for some time, and it was such a wonderful, peaceful environment—a place that gave me great comfort. Before that, my time in the hells was absolutely terrifying. The suffering was beyond words, and I lived in constant fear, never knowing what would happen to me next. That is why, when the temple first asked me if I was ready to go, I hesitated. I was simply too afraid to leave the safety I had found. However, seeing so many other spirits filled with such happiness as they were guided to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss gave me the strength I needed. I gathered my courage, said yes, and now, here I am."
A Miraculous Transformation
"This place is truly magnificent—it is far beyond anything I could have ever imagined, and it is infinitely better than the comfort I felt at the temple. I never dreamed that a soul like mine could reach such a sublime realm. When I heard Practitioner Su call my name during the , and when he mentioned that I was the father of Xu Junqiang and the father-in-law of Zhu Yufeng, I knew immediately that my son and daughter-in-law had performed this act of filial piety for me. It was their devotion and the merit they created that gave me the opportunity to finally leave the hells behind.
The power of Namo Amituofo is truly inconceivable! Combined with the incredible skills of Practitioner Su as he struck the great qing, I was finally rescued. When I was trapped in the darkness of the hells, I first saw a brilliant light and heard a powerful, resonant sound. It was only later that I realised that the light was the Buddha-light, and that the profound sound was the ringing of the qing by Practitioner Su. It was that very sound that shattered the chains of my suffering."
The Inescapable Laws of
"A person's life is filled with so many ups and downs. I honestly never expected that after I passed away, I would end up in such a state. I understand now that it was because I owed so much to others—debts from my past that I had not yet settled in this lifetime. Because of this, I had to endure the suffering of the hells to pay back what was owed. This is a vital lesson for everyone: every single action we take is governed by the laws of karma and cause and effect. There is no way to escape it, and there are no shortcuts. Even if the actions were committed in past lives, they must be settled in this lifetime.
But all of that is in the past now. Please, I ask you all to be at peace and rest easy, for I am doing very well. Today, during the Thrice Yearning Ceremonies, thanks to the of Practitioner Su who guided me to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, I am here. Even now, I can hardly believe what I am seeing. Everything is so vast, so beautiful, and so radiant. Everywhere I look, there is a shimmering, golden light. This is the place where I will reside from now on. For me, this is the greatest grace I could ever receive."
