This is a record of an interview with Lu Furong, who sought at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the . This account reflects upon his life and his transition after passing away over fifty years ago. Recorded by the chief writer, Fa Ning, on May 1, 2026.

Lay Practitioner Lu Furong speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am Lu Furong. Today, I am truly filled with such immense ! I never imagined I would have the precious opportunity to arrive here in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. It is something I never even dared to dream of during my lifetime. I lived a life of great intensity, and although it has been a very long time since I passed away, I never expected that people in the human world would still remember my existence!"

A Grandson's Devotion

"My family is incredibly devoted. I have a grandson named Lu Yanjun, and seeing him so diligently arrange for Chao Du for us elders fills my heart with such happiness. When Practitioner Su called out my name, my entire spirit felt revitalised, and I found myself calling out my grandson's name in return. It was only then that I realised there were still people in the human world thinking of me and arranging for my deliverance. If I count the years, I have been gone from the human world for over fifty years. It is truly hard to believe how much everything has changed in that time. I did not participate in those changes, but from here, I can see everything with perfect clarity."

The Magnificence of the Western Pure Land

"The Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss is truly a place that everyone should aspire to reach. The magnificence and dignity here are beyond what I could ever explain in just a few words. The very first thing I did upon arriving was to kneel down, just like everyone else, to kowtow and express my deepest gratitude to the Buddha. Without the great of Namo Amituofo establishing such a wonderful world, we would never have the chance to leave suffering behind and gain true happiness. I am filled with gratitude for Namo Amituofo, for Practitioner Su, and for my family. I now understand that I must repay the Buddha's kindness in the future."

The Path to Buddhahood

"I did not come here to indulge in comfort. While I was in the Western -Nature Land, I already made a vow to the Buddha: I must attain rebirth in the Western Pure Land and become a Buddha in this very lifetime. Before I achieve Buddhahood, I will certainly practise diligently to purify myself—purification, and then more purification. Only when I become a Buddha will I be able to save the many beings who have a karmic affinity with me. Just like Practitioner Su, who possesses the skills of countless manifestations, I hope to have the Divine Foot to travel wherever I wish, and to save whichever beings are in need."

A Message to My Living Family

"From the Western Dharma-Nature Land, I can see everything clearly and distinctly. Everything here is about saving people, saving them again, and saving them once more. Following the Buddha is a very solid path, and it brings such peace to the heart. My family, you must all remember the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. After you leave the human world, you must absolutely not end up like me—a pitiful, lonely spirit wandering in the underworld for over fifty years. That is truly a life of such suffering! To be able to leave earlier and see the light sooner—I believe that is the wish of many. I am one of the very few lucky ones, but I hope that through my own efforts, I can help save many other beings who are suffering just as I was."

The Compassion of Practitioner Su

"The great vow that Practitioner Su has made is truly precious, for there is no one else in the human world who can accomplish such a feat. At the time, I was deeply moved; when my name was called, I saw Practitioner Su lift me up and place me onto a very comfortable lotus seat. In that moment, I recognised that Practitioner Su is my Teacher, and Namo Amituofo is my Great Teacher."

"My family, my fellow practitioners of the Buddha-Dharma, as you learn from the Buddha and chant His name, do you clearly understand your mission in this life? You have the potential to achieve so much—it all depends on whether you are willing to do it! If you can sincerely follow the Buddha's footsteps, you will certainly reap great rewards. I hope that no matter when, where, or what you are doing, you can always keep the Buddha-name in your heart and remember to chant Namo Amituofo."

"Because the Buddha is truly that compassionate. If you are willing to connect with the Buddha, the Buddha will respond to you; this is the compassion of the Buddha. Therefore, listening to the sutras, hearing the Dharma, and chanting the Buddha's name are truly the two most important things you can do."

"Well, I will not say too much more. You will all come to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss in the future. Start chanting the Buddha's name early; if you can manage to come here through your own skills, that would be the best thing of all. Thank you all, and thank you to Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su. Namo Amituofo."
