Finding True Stability in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss

This is a record of an interview with Lay Practitioner Ruan Yanqun, who sought Chao Du at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. She now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon her transition and gratitude. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Faxin, on May 30, 2025.

Lay Practitioner Ruan Yanqun speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am Lay Practitioner Ruan Yanqun. Throughout my entire life, I was constantly searching—searching for a sense of true, unwavering stability. Now, I have finally found it. It turns out that the feeling I was waiting for, the one I had been seeking all along, is exactly this. It is a profound sense of belonging that I never could have grasped while I was still trapped in the cycle of the world.

Finding the Peace I Longed For

After arriving in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss and seeing the Buddha, I truly felt the power of His compassion for the first time. It is a power that treats every single being with absolute equality; every being is, in essence, a Buddha. I am so deeply grateful to have been settled into this world of ultimate bliss, where every wish is fulfilled and every heart finds its true home. It is a place of such exquisite beauty and perfect harmony.

Once I made the decision to let go of the past, everything seemed to open up. The heavy burdens I carried for so long simply dissolved. I am immensely grateful to the Buddha for granting me the opportunity to awaken from the long, dark dream of my previous existence.

A Debt of Gratitude to My Sister-in-Law

Today, I have this opportunity for Chao Du because of my sister-in-law, Lay Practitioner He Yanping. Though we were not extremely close in the past, I know that you are a kind-hearted person. It is precisely because of that goodness that you have reached this point today, and it is that same goodness that allowed you to help me. You are my benefactor, and I wish you nothing but success and peace in your future. I hope you will continue to follow Namo Amituofo closely, so you never have to suffer again.

A Final Gift of the Buddha-Name

This is the last letter I leave behind while I am still fresh in everyone's memory. My main purpose is to tell you all that I am doing very well. I am learning alongside the compassionate Namo Amituofo, so please, be happy for me. Whenever you think of me, simply chant 'Namo Amituofo,' for I am right there beside the Buddha.

I have departed, and I leave this Buddha-name as my final gift to you. I hope that the Buddha may dwell in your hearts, providing you with a pillar of strength and a reliable refuge when you face difficulties. This would be the greatest blessing I could ever offer you. Right now, I have a peaceful smile on my face, for I have finally left behind the suffering of this world. I hope that you, and all those I care about, may also find this same peace.

I am so grateful to the Buddha and to Practitioner Su. Without this Causal Condition, I would still be wandering in the darkness, not knowing where my cycle of rebirth would lead me. I am grateful for everything. As you chant Namo Amituofo, I wish each and every one of you well.
