This is a record of an interview with Sun Xuye, who sought at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon his journey from the depths of the hells to the Western Pure Land. Recorded by the chief writer, Fa Ning, on February 19, 2026.
Sun Xuye speaks:
". I am filled with such gratitude! Practitioner Su, I am so deeply grateful to you! I am Sun Xuye, and I have finally arrived at the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss of Namo Amituofo. It is truly an incredible thing—something I could never have imagined in my wildest dreams!
Life in the human world is so short, lasting only a few decades. To think that I fell into the hells and have now arrived here in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss—such a transformation is simply beyond comprehension! My daughter, Sun Caixia, encountered the true Buddha’s teachings and found the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia, which is why she was able to register me for the Chao Du. Looking back now, I can see that the assembly here is truly different from any other place. Because the Buddha is truly present here, Practitioner Su can effortlessly guide us to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss.
A Miraculous Journey from the Hells
I did not know Practitioner Su before this. I had no idea that a human being could possess such extraordinary abilities. After I arrived in the Western Land of Dharma Nature, I was initially quite confused and could not understand what was happening. However, as I bathed in the Buddha-light for a long period, my mind gradually became clear. Suddenly, everything became transparent to me. I realised that Practitioner Su is a Buddha in the human world. After attaining Buddhahood in the human realm, he continues to learn from Namo Amituofo, mastering the profound skills that allow him to travel back and forth to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss.
These skills are so powerful that they allow countless spirits to be reborn in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, including me, Sun Xuye. Although I did not have a deep Buddhist affinity in my previous life, I am now able to be reborn in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Looking back, I discovered that I was actually a sincere practitioner in a past life, and I even lived the life of a monastic. These are things I had completely forgotten, and I had no memory of them at all until now.
The Power of True Dharma
Looking back now, after so many lifetimes have passed, I have finally reconnected with the Buddha. It is truly moving! Causal Conditions are just like that—constantly changing and full of infinite possibilities. It is astonishing that I only attained this connection after tasting the bitter suffering of the hells. I am so grateful to my daughter! I am so grateful for all these Causal Conditions. I cherish this so much, truly, I cherish it deeply. In the past, I would never have spoken such words of gratitude because I had not yet endured the true suffering of the world. I was not suffering enough. But now, I am a completely new person.
The Buddha-light shines upon me every single day, penetrating deep into my heart. My entire being has been completely purified. It is truly a world of difference compared to who I was before! Haha, you surely cannot imagine what I am like now. The world of spirits is exactly like this; I am surrounded by good people and kind souls. Everything I hear and see every day is beautiful, so my heart has naturally opened up. I no longer lose my temper, I no longer have negative emotions, and I no longer complain about anything. There is truly nothing left but gratitude!
A Message for Those Still in the Human World
Having said that, you are all still in the human world. You have a physical body, which means you can still do good deeds and conduct yourselves properly. You must strive to change yourselves for the better. The more you resemble a Buddha, the better it will be for you. If you cling to your personality and your selfishness, you will only end up suffering! This is something I know only because I have tasted that bitterness myself.
