Reaching the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss: The Testimony of Lay Practitioner Dai Huihua

This is a record of an interview with Dai Huihua, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. She now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon her transition and her gratitude for the path of liberation. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Faxin, on May 16, 2025.

Lay Practitioner Dai Huihua speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am Dai Huihua, and I have arrived at the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Most of the time now, I find myself simply smiling. As I gaze upon the magnificent scenes of this Western Land, I feel myself completely merging into the beauty that surrounds me.

A Long-Awaited Destination

The beauty of the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss has always been the place my heart longed for, even if I did not fully realise it during my life. I never had the opportunity to encounter this path while I was living in the human world. Now that I have finally arrived, my heart is filled not only with immense joy but also with profound gratitude.

I am deeply grateful for the compassion of the Buddha. I am thankful that the Buddha reached out to lead me—a person who felt she had little use or purpose—into this realm. Everything I sought throughout my life but could never attain, I have now received in full. I am truly fortunate; I am blessed to be able to follow the Buddha."

A Message of Gratitude to Family

"I know in my heart that everything I have attained now is due to the help of Shaoyan. Shaoyan has always been so dedicated in everything she does; she is such a kind-hearted girl. Your auntie wants to express her special thanks to you, and I also know how difficult things have been for you regarding your mother's situation.

Now that you are following the Buddha, simply entrust your heart completely to Him. Everything will pass in time, and all burdens will be lifted.

The Wisdom of Letting Go

Auntie is doing perfectly well now. Please help me convey this message to the rest of the family: I know I caused everyone much hardship in the past, but now my body and my spirit have been fully restored. My eyes have become incredibly clear and powerful, and I am following the Buddha, learning diligently every single day.

In the past, I held onto so many things. I kept so many memories and grievances locked away, and in truth, I cared far too much about things that did not matter. I did not realise that by clinging to the past, I was only inviting my karmic creditors to find me. Now that I understand this, I hope I can remind my family not to make the same mistake.

Now that I have reached the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, my only wish is for all of you to be well. I send the single phrase 'Namo Amituofo' to each of you, hoping that the Buddha will protect you always. With this, I can rest easy and continue to follow the Buddha in my practice. Gratitude to the Buddha, and gratitude to Practitioner Su.
