Rebirth in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss

Lay Practitioner Wu Litian, the father of Lay Practitioner Wu Zhiqiang, sought deliverance through the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. Following his passing, his spirit was guided to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This interview was recorded on May 30, 2025, by Chief Writer Shi Faxin, documenting his transition and his message to his family.

Lay Practitioner Wu Litian speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I offer my deepest gratitude to Namo Amituofo and to Practitioner Su for allowing me, Wu Litian, to now stand as a Buddha. Ever since my spirit was guided to the Buddha-land, I have been reflecting on the immense blessings I must have accumulated to encounter the Buddha, and to have been given the opportunity to be led to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss!

Now, I have truly arrived in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Whatever happened in the past, it has all passed. My heart is filled with gratitude—a profound gratitude for this great grace that has allowed me to leave suffering behind and gain happiness.

The Weight of Karmic Memories

When I first arrived and had not yet fully settled, many voices and sounds swirled around me. They were all the memories and experiences I had recorded throughout this life and my past lives. When these images appeared before me, I could not help but spin within them. Only now do I realise that I was being pulled by my karmic creditors. Because I did not harbour many malicious thoughts during my life, they waited until my time was up before coming together to seek revenge. The laws of karma and cause and effect within this space are so clear and distinct; there is simply no way to hide from them.

After seeing the truth, I had a great awakening. It was at that moment that I made the firm decision to let go—to let go of all the various memories that belonged to Wu Litian and those embedded within my soul. When I was truly willing to let go, my spirit suddenly became very light, floating and drifting, as I chanted the Buddha-name along with the sound of the Buddha's name chanting.

A Message to My Family

My son, my daughter-in-law, thank you for your filial piety. You have given me the opportunity to emerge from the darkness. Now, before my eyes, there is always a vast expanse of light. I hope to bring this same light to you, and to all my family members.

I am just an old man without much Wisdom, yet I have discovered that when I chant 'Namo Amituofo,' I am filled with energy and surrounded by a brilliant light.

The Transformation of the Spirit

The Buddha-land of Namo Amituofo gives me such peace of mind; I wish to dwell here forever. Now, because of the purification of the Buddha-light, my spirit has been elevated. I am no longer the person I was in the past; I have gained more Wisdom and deeper insights. These are things I never realised while I was in the human world or drifting through the cycle of rebirth.

I am deeply grateful to the Buddha and to Practitioner Su for allowing me to be reborn in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. I hope that all my family members still in the human world are doing well. I will be sending you my blessings from the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss.
