Rebirth in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss: Liu Xiaochun
An Interview with the Spirit of Liu Xiaochun
This is a record of an interview with Liu Xiaochun, the daughter of Hu Shuixiang. Liu Xiaochun sought at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia and has since attained rebirth in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon her life, her time in the realms of suffering, and her transition to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Recorded by the chief writer, Fa Ning, on May 29, 2026.
Liu Xiaochun speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. I never imagined that I would be able to speak to everyone in the human world under such circumstances. 'Namo Amituofo' is the most magnificent phrase I have ever known—or perhaps I should say, these six characters are the most magnificent name of all."
A Transformation in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss
"I have only been in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss for half a day. Although I had already undergone significant purification while in the Western Land of Nature, this half-day in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss has brought about a profound sublimation of my spirit. I never expected that such changes could happen to me. And look at me now—I have taken on a male form, and my appearance is so close to that of the Buddha. Everyone here is the same; there is no distinction, as we all appear as male beings. This is the true equality of the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. In the human world, we were always so concerned with whether our faces were beautiful or ugly, but now, everyone possesses the dignified appearance of a Buddha or . How magnificent this is!"
The Agony of Hell and the Grace of Deliverance
"For Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su, I, Liu Xiaochun, feel infinite gratitude. Without Namo Amituofo residing in the human world, willing to help those of us who suffer so deeply, I would still be lost. The suffering I endured in the hells was simply endless! It was truly, truly unbearable.
In truth, I had a premonition long ago that I would fall into the hells to suffer. I just never expected it to happen so soon. I left the human world at only fifty years of age, unable to provide much help to my family. I could not allow my mother to watch us grow up in peace, and instead, she had to endure the years of her old age and illness. This is such a heartbreaking thing to reflect upon."
Regrets and the Law of
"I have failed my family, and I have failed my mother. The 'white-haired person sending off the black-haired person' is a tragedy that is inherently full of suffering. Now that I see my mother’s name appearing here, having registered me for this Chao Du, I am filled with gratitude, for this opportunity is truly rare. In my life, I failed to repay the kindness of my parents, and having left this world so early, I did nothing of value for the human world. My life was lived entirely for myself.
Oh! When I think about it, even if I wanted to regret it, there is no way to do so. It was all destined by my own actions. This was all because my own karma had not been overturned, and I had not recognised the true Buddha’s teachings. If only I could have understood the principle of 'karma' earlier, perhaps my fate could have been rewritten. But life does not offer so many 'ifs.' Life is simply a path one walks to the end, containing both good and evil."
A Warning to the Living
"Only now, through learning the Buddha’s teachings, do I understand that one must not harbour any evil thoughts. To think only of oneself, to plan only for one's own benefit, and to create various forms of negative karma—if one allows these negative karmas to arise, there will certainly be no good days ahead. Although I achieved nothing in my life, I have come to know many of the things I did wrong. I hope that everyone will not follow my example and will not walk the same old path I did.
During my time in the Western Land of Dharma Nature, I was able to see everything in the human world very clearly. 'Western Land of Dharma Nature' was a term I had never heard of before, but now I know it is a place that allows many beings from Earth to be reborn, serving as a transit station to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. When I realised there was such a path to take, I followed the light to the Western Land of Dharma Nature without a moment's hesitation. Of course, no being in the hells would ever refuse such a wonderful opportunity! Ha!"
A Final Message to My Family
"I sincerely say 'thank you' and 'I am sorry' to my mother and my family. I hope that you will all come to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss soon. Many people are reunited with their families here, and I believe we can be, too. This is our true spiritual home. You must come here as soon as you can. Thank you all!
Namo Amituofo."
