Reflections on the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss
A Message from the Spirit of Lee Kuan Yew
Recorded by the Buddha's disciple, Shi Faxi
The Illusion of Worldly Power
When I was still living in the world, I had a vast circle of acquaintances and friends. I never once stopped to consider that there would come a day when I would no longer be present in that realm. I certainly never imagined that I would one day be communicating with all of you in this manner. In the past, who would have thought about what their future would become? How could anyone truly understand how terrifying the reality of death might be? In my past life, I was a man of great confidence. I always acted with immense courage and determination. I was never one to shrink away from challenges; if there was something that needed to be done, I dared to do it. I was certain that I would carry it out, and once I committed to a task, I was determined to achieve the best possible result, always striving to surpass others. That was the man I was—the Lee Kuan Yew that the people of the world knew.
The Transience of Human Relationships
While I was still in the world, people held me in awe and respect. Yet, once I departed, how many people truly kept me in their thoughts? The relationships between men and women in this world are truly only temporary. Since arriving here, I have had many profound realisations. Upon reaching the of Ultimate Bliss, I have been able to let go of so much. It turns out that the truths of the world are actually quite simple. Why did I never consider these things during my time on earth? To be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss with ease and freedom is such a magnificent blessing. However, most people today are not pursuing this. Instead, they are constantly submerged within the and . The entire world is sinking deeper into these illusions. Where else can one find a place that truly sees the nature of humanity? Where can one find a place that truly seeks the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss?
The Uniqueness of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre
The Truth exists, and in this world, it is found right here. There are many places of practice, sacred sites, and centres of purification in the world, but none are as magnificent as this one. This is because the Truth requires more than just a name; it requires pure, sincere, and genuine practice. It demands a state of mind completely free from even the slightest trace of desire or attachment. It requires a heart of great , acting in accordance with the Buddha’s own conduct. This is what true practice is. I have witnessed the footsteps of the Buddha here, and I am deeply moved. I have seen that there are still people in this world who work so diligently to serve others, not for their own gain, but out of a selfless desire to save infinite beings. Such a heart, which seeks no reward, is the most brilliant treasure in the world. I, Lee Kuan Yew, hold the deepest respect for every monk and every who is genuinely doing this work here. In particular, I am filled with admiration for the vast mind-capacity and the great compassion of Practitioner Su.
A Message to My Children
I truly hope that my children will one day have the opportunity to visit this place and see it for themselves. A different world exists right here, and a different life can begin here. There is no ending in this place; there is only an endless, inexhaustible source of energy and light. I hope that my children can all cultivate good thoughts and live a better life. A truly good life is one that finds the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. I will be here waiting for you all. We shall reunite here in perfection and completeness. Namo Amituofo.
