Returning Home to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss: The Journey of Lay Practitioner Huang Dingmo

Lay Practitioner Huang Dingmo, the father of Lay Practitioner Wang Jin, sought deliverance through the compassionate guidance of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. Following his passing, his spirit was guided to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss through the Chao Du performed by Practitioner Su. This interview was recorded on May 23, 2025, by Chief Writer Shi Fajing.

Lay Practitioner Huang Dingmo speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am deeply grateful to Practitioner Su for her great compassion. I, your disciple Huang Dingmo, have now arrived in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss.

As I kneel before the Buddha, the tears simply will not stop falling. Seeing my own life throughout countless lifetimes, I realise how much suffering I have endured, trapped within the cycle of rebirth, unable to find a way out. But now, I have finally returned home—I have returned to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. My compassionate father, Namo Amituofo, is right here before me. I have been bowing and kowtowing in endless gratitude; if it were not for my compassionate father and Practitioner Su, I would still be lost in the cycle of rebirth today.

From Fear to the Light of Buddha

I was rescued by Practitioner Su from a space of fear, panic, and utter helplessness. I am so deeply thankful to my child for bringing my spirit before the Buddha. After Practitioner Su saved me, I was immediately seated upon a lotus seat in the Western Land of Dharma Nature. In that instant, I felt my heart settle. A powerful force washed over me, and I naturally ceased to be afraid—it was the power of the Buddha. The Buddha is truly compassionate; He has been shining His Buddha-light upon me, which has allowed me to become increasingly calm, peaceful, and clear-minded.

Confronting the Past and Karmic Debt

When I witnessed my past lives, I wept for a long time. I saw that in my previous lives, I had caused the deaths of many people. Those beings were unwilling to let me go, and I knew then that they were my karmic creditors. I had heard of the concept of karmic creditors before, but knowing about it and seeing it with my own eyes are two completely different experiences. I felt such profound regret for the harm I caused them. I kept saying, 'I am sorry, please forgive me,' but I knew they might not be able to hear me. So, I turned to the Buddha and begged Him to help them, to save them as well.

A New Existence Beyond the Physical

My life in this world has now come to an end. Without a physical body, everything is completely different. I am no longer the Huang Dingmo I once was; I am the original spirit that, in this final lifetime, was reborn as Huang Dingmo.

I wish to thank everyone who had a karmic connection with me in this lifetime. I am so grateful to all of you for accompanying me through this journey of life. I thank my child for performing the Chao Du for me, allowing me to return to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss in the final moments of my existence.
