The Turbulence of the Unsettled Mind

If your heart and mind are not yet settled, your deluded thoughts will scatter like autumn leaves in a gale. Your Six Roots will become chaotic, and the waves of your emotions will be difficult to calm. This internal turbulence prevents you from seeing the truth of your existence and keeps you bound to the cycle of rebirth.

The Power of Stillness

You must learn to settle your mind. When your heart is truly at peace, it becomes a sanctuary that remains undisturbed by external affairs. Even when or spiritual attachments seek to create discord, they will find it difficult to disturb your inner stillness. A settled mind is your greatest defence against the distractions of the world.

The Path of , Concentration, and Wisdom

When your mind no longer rises in waves of agitation, your eyes become clear, and your Six Roots are purified. You will begin to see many things with absolute clarity. This is the fruit of the three studies: Precepts, meditative concentration, and wisdom. You must use the Precepts to generate meditative concentration, and by continuously upholding these, you will naturally give rise to wisdom.

Realising the True Self

As this wisdom manifests, your inherent Prajna will shine forth, allowing you to see your true nature. This is the key to transforming your , changing your destiny, and finally breaking free from the cycle of rebirth. It is a process of returning to your original, pure nature.

Diligent Practice and Deliverance

Therefore, you must engage in diligent practice by chanting the name of Namo Amituofo. When you achieve the , your meditative concentration will be firmly established. This is the foundation for your success in reaching the Pure Land. With this accomplishment, you will be able to save and guide countless confused beings to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
