The Arrival of World Leaders at the Pure Land
A Dialogue Between Practitioner Su and Namo Amituofo
Recorded on May 5, 2017
On the morning of May 5, 2017, at 4:41 AM, the Buddha’s disciple, Shi Faxi, respectfully invited Namo Amituofo to provide guidance. Practitioner Su had experienced a vision during the morning walking meditation, in which the prime ministers of various nations arrived at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre. In this vision, the Buddha-light shone continuously, and each leader possessed a halo, indicating that they had descended from the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Practitioner Su sought the compassionate teachings of Namo Amituofo regarding the meaning of this manifestation.
The Gathering of Celestial Leaders
Namo Amituofo provided the following discourse: The Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre is a place where the Buddha truly abides, and it is here that those connected by karmic affinity are gathered. The arrival of these world leaders is not a coincidence; it is a reflection of the vast, immeasurable and boundless power of the Buddha-vow. These leaders, though they may appear to be ordinary figures of the world, carry the light of the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss with them. Their presence signifies that the temple is a sacred ground where the boundaries between the mundane world and the Western Land begin to blur.
It is as if these leaders have awakened from a dream, momentarily forgetting the illusions of the world to recognise the truth of the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Because they have cultivated deep and virtues in their past lives, they have attained their positions as leaders. Their halos are a testament to their original nature and their past spiritual practice. When they arrive at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, it is because the conditions for their have matured, drawing them to the source of the Buddha’s teachings.
The Sacred Mission of the Temple
The Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia requires immeasurable and boundless support to fulfil its mission of saving endless suffering beings. The temple serves as a beacon of light, and its scale and influence will continue to grow until it becomes a global centre for religion and peace. In this future, there will be no national boundaries, only the boundless of the Buddha. The temple will become a place where the Buddha’s teachings are preserved and transmitted, and where the gate to immortality—the path to rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss—is opened wide for all.
The temple is destined to receive vast resources and support, including the sacred Buddhist sutras, which will be propagated to the West. This is the work of the Buddha, and it is the work of all those who have dedicated their lives to the . The vision of the prime ministers is a sign that the time is ripe for the temple to expand its reach and influence, moving beyond its current form to touch the lives of countless beings across the globe.
The Role of the Fourfold Assembly
The fourfold assembly of disciples—monastics and lay practitioners alike—must work in harmony to support this grand vision. Each member of the assembly has a role to play, and each must strive with diligent practice to purify their body, mind, and spirit. The strength of one's light, whether large or small, depends entirely on the capacity of one's heart. To be a true practitioner, one must possess a vast mind-capacity, capable of embracing all beings with compassion and wisdom.
- The Monastics: They are the pillars of the temple, maintaining the purity of the Dharma and guiding the community with their example.
- The Lay Practitioners: They are the bridge between the temple and the world, bringing the teachings into their daily lives and sharing the message of Namo Amituofo with others.
- The Collective Effort: When the fourfold assembly acts as one, their combined power is unstoppable, creating a field of energy that can transform the world.
Spreading the Dharma through Modern Means
To reach the suffering beings of this world, the temple must utilise modern methods of communication. The propagation of the Dharma requires wisdom and strategy. We must understand the hearts of the people and use media, public relations, and outreach to share the message of the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Just as the world is drawn to entertainment and wealth, we must find ways to draw them to the Truth. We must reach out to those in positions of influence, those who fear the cycle of rebirth, and those who seek true meaning in their lives.
By engaging with the media and using professional public relations, the temple can ensure that its message reaches those who are ready to hear it. This is not about personal gain, but about the preservation of the Dharma and the salvation of all beings. Every individual, from the general manager to the newest volunteer, has a part to play in this great endeavour. Each must fulfil their duties with a sincere heart, ensuring that the work of the temple continues without interruption.
Emerging from the Cocoon
We are currently in a period of transformation, much like a butterfly emerging from its cocoon. This process requires great effort and the courage to break through the difficulties that stand in our way. Once we have broken through, we will be able to spread our wings and reach new heights. The temple is preparing for this moment, and the conditions for success are gathering. We must continue to purify ourselves, to deepen our practice, and to welcome all who come to us with an open heart.
The light of Namo Amituofo is always present, guiding us, protecting us, and illuminating the path ahead. As long as we remain steadfast in our faith, vows, and practice, we will be able to fulfil our mission and bring the light of the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss to all corners of the world. Let us move forward together, with one heart and one mind, in the service of all beings.
