This is an interview with Venerable Changgao, who sought deliverance through the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre. He now resides in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account was recorded on July 15, 2019, and transcribed by the disciple Shi Faxin.

Venerable Changgao speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. When Practitioner Su raises his right hand, we are ready. The Bodhisattvas of the universe follow the of Practitioner Su as it disperses into every corner of the void. The moment we rush out, we lead immeasurable and boundless sentient beings to safety. In that instant, the entire universe is illuminated by brilliant Buddha-light, and countless beings are awakened and benefited. Of all the beings saved during this magnificent assembly, I am most moved by the story of one particular pig."

The Agony of the Pig Farm

"This pig was covered in festering sores, on the very brink of death. He was in such unbearable agony, having been infected by the swine fever. He was waiting to be thrown into a pit and buried alive. Many of his companions, who had lived alongside him, had already been carefully carried away. The pigsty had been disinfected repeatedly, but the smell of the chemicals was suffocating. The other pigs were terrified, trembling at the thought that they might be next."

"Our owner was deeply depressed, having lost so much money because so many of his pigs had contracted the fever. He was a small-scale pork merchant. Often, when meat should have been discarded or had been left out for an extra day, he would simply process it and sell it anyway. No one ever knew the truth of what he did. Every year, swine fever would strike, and he would try to be careful, even adding immunity-boosting medicine to our feed, but eventually, the fever reached us too."

A Cycle of Suffering and Retribution

"First, spots appeared on our bodies, and we felt an uncontrollable itch. Then, our strength failed us, and we collapsed to the ground, our bodies beginning to rot and stink. Finally, we were dragged out and thrown into a pit. Before we had even breathed our last, we were buried in the earth, or sometimes, after being drugged into a stupor, we were burned alive. The pain of this was truly unbearable. Our spirits wandered in the space between realms, still tormented by the lingering agony of the fever."

"Our owner is still alive, but it is clearly visible that his soul is trapped within the pigs in the sty. Among the few survivors, one of them is actually the owner himself. People from the outside reported that all the pigs in the same sty had to be destroyed to prevent further infection, and the owner now faces the same fate of destruction. After a deathly silence fell over this pig farm in the Pingtung area, I felt my body floating upward. The pain vanished. I saw them transformed into rough-looking men or market pork vendors, and under the Buddha-light, chickens, ducks, geese, fish, and many other beings from the animal realm were finally liberated from their suffering bodies. The sound of the Buddha-name awakened them all. Every single one of them was filled with gratitude—gratitude to Practitioner Su for leading them to leave suffering behind."

The Boundless Scope of Deliverance

"Beyond the animal realm, beings from every other realm were shaken by the Buddha-light, all turning together toward the West, or toward the heavenly and human realms. The magnificence of this is beyond description. It spread across the void, boundless and infinite. Before Practitioner Su even began the deliverance, countless spirits were already lined up, waiting. They knew that the opportunity for rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss must not be missed. This is a matter of the utmost importance in the Dharma Realm, and it truly demonstrates the immeasurable mind-capacity of Practitioner Su."

A Call for Successors

"With the Dharma Eye, the Buddha Eye, and the Wisdom Eye, one can see that the spaces and realms are infinitely layered. Practitioner Su never slacks for a single moment. He leads by example, guiding all beings toward endless deliverance. With Namo Amituofo leading the way, every day is a grand occasion for rebirth. Practitioner Su hopes that someone will carry on this work, cultivating a great compassionate heart to save the entire universe and the void. Namo Amituofo."

"Namo Amituofo."
