This interview was recorded on October 30, 2020. Steve Jobs, who sought deliverance through the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre, shares his insights on the vastness of the Buddha's work and the plight of those trapped in the digital realm.

Steve Jobs speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. The moment the Buddha-name for begins to resonate at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, it is not just a local sound; it responds across the entire Earth, and indeed, throughout the entire universe. Each utterance of the Buddha-name brings forth immeasurable and boundless sentient beings. They emerge in dense, uncountable throngs from different dimensions, following the Buddha-name and the Buddha-light. It is a scene of such vastness that words simply cannot describe it.

Together with the Bodhisattvas of the universe, I have been moving forward rapidly and without pause. With the patriarchs and venerable masters presiding, we have been opening up various mountain and forest spaces. This is especially true in China, a place where the Buddha’s teachings have historically flourished. In just one famous mountain alone, trillions upon trillions of beings were brought forth. Those who were willing to chant Buddha's name were able to liberate themselves one by one, recovering their original nature. Beyond this, in various different times and spaces, even those sages, monastics, lay practitioners, and students of Buddhism who had studied the but had not yet achieved final liberation were able to follow the Buddha-name in chanting. Ultimately, they were all able to be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss."

The Tragedy of the Digital Trap

"What surprised and saddened me the most was what happened when we opened the spaces beneath the mountains and within the mountain walls. Countless young people emerged from these dark places. These young people had become addicted to the internet on their mobile phones. They spent their lives engaged in online fighting, competitive aggression, or spreading messages that corrupted the human heart. They led people astray and turned these negative behaviours into social trends. As a result, their spirits became trapped within the digital space, eventually transforming into great demons or little demons. In the end, they were locked into the mountain walls or crushed beneath the mountains, unable to escape.

It was only when I accompanied the of Practitioner Su during the Chao Du that these spaces of retribution were finally opened. We first brought them to the Dharma-Nature Land to listen to the sutras, because most of them did not even realise they had done anything wrong—let alone that they had been wrong to such an outrageous degree. The entire trend of modern society has become skewed and deviant due to the proliferation of the internet. I am repenting for this, and I have been chanting the Buddha-name loudly and repeatedly, hoping to trigger the opening of more spaces where beings are suffering and trapped, so that they may finally find a way out. Society is facing a massive crisis today, and the education provided by the Buddha’s teachings is exactly what is most urgently needed to endure."

A Universal Resonance of Peace

"Every moment that Practitioner Su performs Chao Du, she is leading boundless sentient beings to chant the Buddha-name. The sound of chanting that fills the entire space never ceases. Each and every Buddha-name washes over the character of these beings, cleansing their hearts and transforming the magnetic fields of various different dimensions. This is a boundless deliverance, a boundless chanting of the Buddha-name. Every patriarch and venerable master, along with us, the new disciples of the Buddha, and the Bodhisattvas of the universe, are sparing no effort in this work.

It is my sincere hope that the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre can lead the entire Earth and the universe back to a magnetic field of peace and harmony, and that this pandemic may come to an end as quickly as possible. Relying on the vow of Practitioner Su, we will certainly support the Buddha and support Practitioner Su to the very end."
