The world of a giant arises from within the heart, for that is where a formidable power resides. If this power is composed of , Wisdom (Prajna), and mind-capacity, and is dedicated to alleviating the suffering of all beings, it is the power of a Buddha. However, if this immense strength is driven by selfishness and the pursuit of personal desires, it is merely the way of ordinary people. If this power is used to vent personal dissatisfaction, anger, or resentment, it becomes the path of demons. Whether you become a Buddha, remain an ordinary person, or descend into the path of demons, it all depends entirely upon your heart.
Some may say that they are merely ordinary people. If your thoughts and actions are solely for personal gain, then you are indeed an ordinary person bound by . However, if your conduct is humble and modest, and your every thought is dedicated to the well-being of all beings rather than personal fame or profit, then you are not an ordinary person at all—you are a Buddha. If such a Buddha appears in your midst, you must possess the eyes of wisdom and the roots of wisdom to truly recognise them.
In this age of the ’s decline, we live in the Five Turbidities and Evil World, a complex and polluted realm where Buddhas, ordinary beings, and demons coexist. The influence of demons often caters to personal desires and cravings, causing people to forget what is truly right. Consequently, their actions become increasingly distorted, violating the Right Way and descending into deviant paths. If true spiritual friends or auspicious conditions do not appear in time to correct these misguided thoughts and guide behaviour back to the Right Way, people often drift further away until they enter the path of demons, from which it is difficult to return.
Therefore, in this age of the Dharma’s decline, demonic hearts, thoughts, and actions are pervasive. They cause people to lose their vigilance, turning the world into a realm of demons. How can disasters not arise in such a state? How can the human heart find peace? When the True Teachings are difficult to manifest, people are left to live in unbearable suffering. At such times, we need those who possess great vows, great strength, great actions, and a great heart—those who do not count the cost of their own lives, health, or pain, and who possess powerful positive energy—to appear and turn the tide against the demonic environment and its control.
Practitioner Su is precisely such a figure. In the practice of the Buddha’s teachings, Practitioner Su has overcome countless obstacles. Relying on absolute faith in the Buddha and following the Buddha’s teachings, Practitioner Su has rediscovered the true self. To save the world, Practitioner Su disregards slander and the injuries caused by words and actions, working tirelessly to turn the tide. Because the human world is difficult to save and transform, Practitioner Su works to rescue those in suffering, using compassion, Wisdom (Prajna), and mind-capacity to save the suffering beings in the spiritual realms and the Dharma Realm, performing to help them ascend to the of Ultimate Bliss and the heavens.
Practitioner Su follows the Buddha’s footsteps and guidance step by step. For the sake of saving the world, Practitioner Su has made even greater vows. The salvation team, composed of the demonic beings subdued by Practitioner Su, has been transformed into a powerful, positive, and virtuous force. They are currently chanting while circling the Earth to correct the Earth’s tilted orbit, address the pandemic that has left the world’s people helpless, and pray for rain during the Australian drought. This action has been ongoing for some time and continues to this day. Skanda believes in the power of the True Teachings. Under the guidance of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, this effort will surely exert the power to subdue demonic enemies and resolve disasters, making the early end of the pandemic not an unreachable goal.
Practitioner Su’s resolute and earnest determination to save the world is in perfect harmony with the vows of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. The Earth’s orbital tilt is gradually being corrected, and the efforts to pray for rain have yielded remarkable results. As for the pandemic, which arose from the distorted hearts of humanity, it requires the cooperation of human hearts, kind thoughts, and vows to achieve the effect of improvement, mitigation, or resolution. Although people now yearn for salvation, the powerful auspicious conditions have not yet fully manifested. Even though the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and Practitioner Su have the vows and the power to improve or even resolve the pandemic, they cannot fully exert this power without external support. Therefore, in the absence of outside aid, the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the Western Pure Land, the ancestral masters, Practitioner Su, the salvation team, and the fourfold assembly of disciples at Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre are all doing their utmost to contribute to the action of chanting Namo Amituofo around the Earth.
Today is the third day of the Thrice Yearning Ceremony. I hope that the fourfold assembly of disciples will do their best to focus their minds, avoid wandering thoughts, overcome and distraction, and listen attentively to the teachings of the Buddha and the Teacher. As the ceremony proceeds, please focus on chanting Namo Amituofo, reciting the Sutras, and performing prostrations alongside Practitioner Su. Practitioner Su does not forget the fourfold assembly of disciples and visualises bringing you into the activity of chanting around the Earth, allowing you to contribute your own strength to this cause. Please chant Namo Amituofo well and participate in the Dharma assembly with sincerity.
Namo Amituofo.
