My child, Hai Ze, listen with a pure and tranquil heart. At this very moment, the Thrice Yearning Ceremony is unfolding, and the sacred Buddha-name is being chanted. This is not merely a standard practice of walking around the Buddha. Within the sound of the Buddha-name, there are other voices resonating. Can you hear them? Can you discern the nature of these sounds?

Hai Ze, listen closely with a heart free from distraction. At this moment, the Buddha-name is boundless, echoing in all eight directions. It is not just the voices of the practitioners here; there are other beings joining in the recitation. It is the celestial beings and the heavenly assembly who are chanting. The sound of Namo Amituofo circles endlessly, filling the space between heaven and earth with a resonance that knows no limits.

The Harmony of the Western Pure Land

Beyond the celestial beings, there are also the beings from the lotus ponds of the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. They are all turning the Buddha-name together, creating a sound of such exquisite and supreme joy that it returns to the ears as a melody beyond anything found in this world. There is nothing in the mundane world that can compare to this harmony.

Indeed, it is true. The celestial beings wish to travel to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, and so they leave behind these Buddha-sounds for all to chant together. This sound resonates through the clouds, carrying the joy of the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Those who hear it will find their body, mind, and spirit purified and refreshed. This is a cool, refreshing Dharma-joy that has never been heard before. Only those who are connected by karmic affinity are able to enter this Buddha-land.

The Sacred Duty of the Practitioner

The past is already gone; what matters is the present moment right before you. You and your spouse are both protecting the Dharma-ship, helping the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre to continue its journey forward. Every action you take is an accumulation of merit. Understand this clearly, my child: you are here to assist Practitioner Su in steering this ship. Do not distinguish between yourself and others; hold one heart and one mind. Together, we carry all beings toward the West. Namo Amituofo is here to save those who have the karmic affinity to wait for their children.

The Unseen Guardians of the Dharma

Look further, and you will see even more clearly. Within this Buddha-land, the Dharma-protecting monks and the various divine beings are protecting you as if they were protecting their own lives. The Vajra gods and the Avatamsaka assembly do not allow themselves to leave your side for even a single moment. The venerable beings from Nalanda University are also here at all times, protecting you as you learn. This is all because Namo Amituofo truly abides here at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. All of you, as Buddha’s disciples, are future Buddhas.

The Path to Eternal Awakening

When one child becomes a Buddha, they can save infinite suffering beings. When all of you become Buddhas, the Buddha-city is established. Once you enter this city, you enter the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, and all the sufferings of the Saha world will be left behind forever. This situation awaits you at the time of your becoming an awakened being. It is not a myth, nor is it unattainable. You must take every step firmly and steadily.

How many days do you have left in this life? You should treat every day as if it were your last, and every moment as if it were a time that will never come again. Every second passes like the wind; even a slight chill is gone in an instant. Do not let delusions or messy thoughts arise. Keep the Buddha-name and the Buddha-heart in perfect sync. Why worry that becoming an awakened being is far away? The Buddha-light is everywhere before your eyes, shining upon your pure heart and making it even clearer. Let the vast ocean flow into the Buddha-city. When that time comes, the ocean of the Buddha will surge forth. Hai Ze, let go of your physical body, and in the blink of an eye, you will see the light of your own true self. The Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre is a place where the precious fragrance permeates everywhere, and the light shines without end.
