This is a record of an interview with Li Wanguang, who sought at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon his transition from the cycle of rebirth to the Western Pure Land. Recorded by the chief writer, Fa Ning, on March 27, 2026.

Lay Practitioner Li Wanguang speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I never imagined that my turn to be interviewed about my experiences in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss would come so quickly. When I speak of 'reflections,' I truly find myself at a loss for words to describe the sheer magnificence of this place. To be perfectly honest, I have only been here for a few hours. If you were to ask me for a deep, philosophical insight, I am afraid I would not have much to say just yet.

However, my heart has never felt such profound peace, serenity, and -. I am immersed in the happiness of the Dharma at every single moment. So, this is what the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss is truly like—it is the absolute sense of security and comfort that Namo Amituofo brings to all beings."

A Sudden Transformation

"During the long days I spent wandering as a spirit, I finally understood what it means to be truly lonely, helpless, and without a place to call home. That is the reality of the world after death. I lived that kind of life for decades, and in truth, I had long ago become accustomed to those grey, dim, and desolate days. I never expected that I would suddenly be 'upgraded,' so to speak—that I would experience such a massive reversal of fortune and arrive in a place as beautiful as the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.

Of course, I did spend a significant amount of time residing in the before arriving here. That realm is also a Buddha-land, just like this one. While it may not be as perfectly magnificent as the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, it was already a vast improvement compared to my previous life as a wandering spirit. I cannot help but marvel at the fragrance of the lotus flowers here; it is truly wonderful—a subtle, refreshing scent that is so incredibly soothing. Compared to the smog and pollution of the human world, the difference is like night and day. Every breath we take here is a recitation of the Buddha-name. We do not need to speak much; we simply exist in a state of quiet, mutual understanding, knowing exactly what the other is thinking without the need for words."

Reconnecting Through the Buddha's Light

"Naturally, I have also encountered many acquaintances from my many lives throughout the cycle of rebirth. At this very moment, their faces feel so incredibly familiar. Although we all look quite similar—each of us appearing with such dignity—I do not know why, but I can instantly recognise the relationship we once shared and recall the things we once did together. Every scene from my many lives is presented before me, clear and vivid, as if it were happening right now.

As for this current lifetime, the one where I was known as Li Wanguang, my memories are already beginning to fade. I do not remember much of it, as those are all things of the past. However, I am sincerely grateful to Namo Amituofo and to Practitioner Su for giving me this opportunity. After being dead for so long, to still have the chance to arrive in your Buddha-land is proof that I must have a very deep karmic affinity with the Buddha."

Gratitude for Family and Deliverance

"I am especially grateful to my family. It was my daughter-in-law who performed the Chao Du for me; she is truly a person of great . My son must also be a person of great fortune. He performed the Chao Du for both my wife and me, allowing us both to be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss today. I am so deeply moved that they did not forget me. Even after I had been gone for so long, they still kept me in their hearts and performed the Chao Du for me. This is something that touches me more than I can express.

There is no way to repay such gratitude. I truly hope that my daughter-in-law, my son, and all my family members will have the opportunity to study the Buddha-Dharma. I hope that in the future, they too will have the chance to be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, just as I have. I sincerely hope they can follow this same path. When all is said and done, the human body is indeed short and full of suffering, but all of that is in the past now. I will not hold onto the things of the past any longer.

I wish to start anew, to study diligently before Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su, so that in the future, I may repay the immeasurable and boundless beings with whom I have karmic affinities. I feel that this is the most important thing of all.

Namo Amituofo."
