The Deliverance of Lay Practitioner Zhang Shuangxi

This is a record of an interview with Lay Practitioner Zhang Shuangxi, the husband of Lay Practitioner Zhong Yuye. He sought Chao Du at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia and now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon his transition and current state of peace, offering a glimpse into the boundless compassion of the Buddha. Lay Practitioner Zhang Shuangxi speaks:

"I am eternally grateful to Practitioner Su for taking my hand and guiding me to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. It is a profound relief to finally be here, away from the suffering and the endless cycles of the Saha world. My heart is finally at rest, and I feel a sense of belonging that I have searched for my entire life.

A New Life of Peace

Ever since Practitioner Su brought me to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, my life has been transformed into something truly wonderful. This place is so bright, so vast, and so magnificent. I have never experienced such a life before; it has brought a profound sense of stillness and peace to my heart. It is a tranquility I never knew was possible, a deep, resonant calm that permeates every part of my being, washing away the anxieties of the past.

The sacred name of Namo Amituofo resonates here constantly, filling the air with its infinite compassion. As I listen to the Buddha-name, I find myself naturally chanting along, my heart syncing with the rhythm of the universe. While at the temple, I had the opportunity to listen to Practitioner Su’s Dharma talks. They were truly excellent, revealing truths that I had never grasped in my lifetime. It was only then that I realised how magnificent the Buddha’s teachings are—that they could actually reach out and bring me here to the Western Land. The power of the Buddha is truly boundless, and I am a living testament to that grace!

Radiance and Renewal

The environment here is even better than I could have imagined. The space is so expansive, so luminous, and so incredibly beautiful. Everything sparkles with a light I have never seen before, a pure, golden radiance that warms the soul. If I could stay here forever, that would be the greatest blessing of all. The beauty of this place is beyond words, and every moment spent here is a gift of pure joy.

I no longer feel any pain in my body. I am not like I was before, when I was burdened by illness and forced to rely on medicine to survive. None of that is necessary here. I feel lighter than I have ever felt in my life, and I even feel younger, as if the weight of decades has been lifted from my shoulders. I understand now that this is because the Buddha is here, and because the Buddha-light shines upon us. It is this special power that has transformed me, even changing the very nature of my heart, making it pure and clear.
