The Golden Light Across the Universe

This is a record of an interview with Venerable White Cloud, who sought Chao Du at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon his origins from Uranus and his long journey through the universe. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Fa, on June 10, 2018.

Venerable White Cloud speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am White Cloud. My name is derived from my appearance—I possess a long, flowing white beard that drifts like a cloud. I was born during the Western Han Dynasty in China, but my true origin lies far beyond this world. I descended to the human world from the planet Uranus, where I had spent over a thousand years in deep, focused practice.

From Uranus to the Human World

During my time on Uranus, the planet's energy field was still in a state of flux, far from stable. I chose to utilise this instability as a whetstone for my own meditative concentration. I dedicated myself to refining my skills, using my meditative concentration to influence the surrounding energy, effectively condensing the chaotic currents into a state of profound stability. I learned early on that if one's thoughts become scattered or divided, it causes irreparable harm to one's own spirit, potentially shattering it into fragments. Thus, I have always maintained myself in a state of absolute, silent meditative concentration.

I wish to take this opportunity to share a vital lesson with the practitioners of today: in an environment that is incredibly chaotic, a single person's 'meditative concentration' and 'purity' can fundamentally alter the entire magnetic field of their surroundings. When you are truly in a state of meditative concentration, you become like a pool of pure, still water. You are no longer influenced by the disturbances of the environment; instead, you begin to influence the environment itself. This is a form of energy transmission. When your energy is positive, stable, and powerful, it radiates throughout the entire field, creating subtle yet profound changes in the world around you.

Healing the Dharma Body of Practitioner Su

I am deeply honoured to have been granted the opportunity to enter the legs of Practitioner Su—known to the human world as Practitioner Su, and to the spiritual realms as Buddha Su—to become one of the one thousand, one hundred and twenty-six venerable beings assisting in the repair of the wounds caused by the interference of sentient beings. I once studied medicine, and I have applied my meditative concentration and my medical knowledge to enhance the stability of Practitioner Su's legs. Many of the nerves that had been damaged were suffering from long-term pressure, leading to a state of severe disorder. Through our daily treatments, these nerves have gradually been repaired, realigned, and restored to their original, stable state, which has significantly alleviated the discomfort in Practitioner Su's legs. I am truly grateful for this chance to serve Practitioner Su. Namo Amituofo!"

The Universal Salvation

"At this very moment, the universe is teeming with countless sentient beings. Thanks to the Ultimate Vow of Practitioner Su, our salvation team has followed her into the vast reaches of the universe to perform Chao Du for these beings once again. Amidst the resounding chanting of the name 'Namo Amituofo,' we have each flown in all directions to save the sentient beings with whom we share a karmic affinity. The beings we are delivering are those who have achieved a high level of meditative concentration but have failed to attain rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. There are so many of these practitioners lingering in the universe, continuing their practice in the hope of one day reaching the 'black hole'—the centre of the Milky Way, which serves as a secret path to the Western Pure Land.

The sound of the name 'Namo Amituofo' brings with it a powerful, transformative energy, and the entire universe is now bathed in golden light. These practitioners, who have spent eons in the dark, are curiously opening their eyes, witnessing a phenomenon that has never before occurred in the history of the universe. Practitioner Su's countless billions of manifestations fill the entire universe and extend far beyond it. The energy brought forth by the golden light and the Buddha-name is infusing the entire energy field of the cosmos. Even the immeasurable and boundless dust particles scattered throughout space are being saved. Many celestial bodies that had lost their lustre, their energy nearly exhausted, are now regaining their original brilliance, shining brightly once again in the vast expanse of space."

The Story of Lu Dan: A Lesson in Compassion

"One of these practitioners in the universe, a being named Lu Dan, shared his story of why he failed to attain rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss despite his rigorous practice. Lu Dan once lived on Earth over ten thousand years ago, during a time when the structure of the planet was largely formed and humans already walked its surface. To elevate his meditative concentration, Lu Dan chose to live among wild beasts in the deep forests. When the predators approached, it was the ultimate test of his meditative concentration; even with ferocious beasts mere inches away, he would remain seated on a rock, completely 'unmoved.' He would also sit in meditation amidst the freezing snow, allowing the drifts to bury his legs, yet he remained 'unmoved.' He even sat near flowing magma, enduring temperatures so extreme that his blood felt as though it were boiling, yet he remained 'unmoved.' Lu Dan used every method imaginable to challenge the limits of his physical body, eventually allowing his spirit to break free from the constraints of the flesh. He ascended into the universe, where he remained for over ten thousand years, leaving his physical body to be torn apart and consumed by the beasts of the forest.

After leaving Earth, Lu Dan practiced meditative concentration on a star in the Milky Way called the Nikeda planet. The temperature on that planet is incredibly high, making it inaccessible to most, but Lu Dan practiced there, remaining 'unmoved' regardless of how time and space shifted. Yet, even with such profound meditative concentration, he could not attain rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss; he could only remain trapped within the universe.

Today, as Practitioner Su performed Chao Du for the sentient beings in the universe, Lu Dan finally understood the importance of delivering sentient beings, rather than merely seeking his own liberation. Lu Dan is deeply grateful for this opportunity to be saved. I urge all people in the world to remember that the essence of practice is to help others. Even if one's meditative concentration is profound, one cannot attain rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss alone. It is only through the karmic conditions of Practitioner Su's Chao Du that he has finally been able to head toward the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.

Every morning, the Chao Du of the Dharma Body benefits boundless sentient beings, whether they are in the worldly realm, the universe, or beyond. This is a magnificent spectacle of salvation that I, White Cloud, have never witnessed in all my time in the world. The magnetic field of the entire worldly realm and the alien worlds is being changed, bit by bit, turning toward goodness and positivity. The future will be one of infinite light. I am filled with gratitude for the compassion of Namo Amituofo and the compassion of Practitioner Su! Namo Amituofo."
