The Compassionate Vows of the Great Physician

In the Infinite Life Sutra (The Buddha Speaks the , Infinite Life, Adornment, Purity, Impartiality, and Sutra), Shakyamuni Buddha clearly identifies Namo Amituofo as the most honoured among all lights, the King of Buddhas, and the embodiment of immeasurable life and light. Within the sacred texts, Namo Amituofo is frequently referred to as the Great Physician. One might ask, why is this title so fitting? It is because of the foundational practice of Namo Amituofo and the fulfilment of the Forty-eight Great Vows. Over the course of five eons, Namo Amituofo laboured to establish the of Ultimate Bliss, a realm that has been praised by countless Buddhas throughout the ten directions.

Humanity currently dwells in the darkness of suffering, entangled in the of greed, anger, ignorance, arrogance, and doubt, as well as the of wealth, lust, fame, food, and sleep. We suffer from endless physical and mental ailments. All suffering arises from the heart. We must reflect deeply: if we are afflicted by illness, we must consider the root cause. It is the manifestation of karmic forces, with the cycle of birth, aging, sickness, and death serving as the primary axis upon which all other diseases revolve.

Unveiling the Hidden Causes of Illness

We now understand that an impure state of mind, the manifestation of , and the scattering of the three hun souls and seven po souls are the primary causes of illness. Often, when people hear this, they dismiss it as mere superstition, thereby losing a precious opportunity to heal. This is truly a tragedy. However, those who follow the Causal Conditions and possess the faith to believe will surely receive the benefits of the .

The (eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, mind) possess different structures and functions. Yet, once one has realised their true nature, these six sense organs become pure and interconnected. The sensitivity and awareness of each root can be utilised without limit. The Five Eyes mentioned in the Infinite Life Sutra—the physical eye, the heavenly eye, the Dharma eye, the Wisdom eye, and the Buddha eye—are examples of this. The extent of one's vision depends entirely on the degree of one's purification and practice.

The Miracle of Healing at Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre

At the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia, we witness the improvement and resolution of illnesses and life problems without the use of medicine or injections. How can the Pure Land Dharma Gate, relying on the power of the Buddha and one's own efforts, enable to remain free from aging and sickness, and ensure the spirit never dies, leading to rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss? It is through the of the Buddha, which activate the innate power of purification within our own nature. By applying , wisdom, and the vastness of the Buddha-heart, we can help ourselves and others break through delusion, realise our true nature, and attain rebirth in the Western Pure Land.

Out of compassion for the suffering of beings, Practitioner Su of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre has dedicated thirty years to the Pure Land Dharma Gate. With a single Buddha-name, Namo Amituofo, and the Infinite Life Sutra, his heart, vows, and power are in perfect sync with Namo Amituofo. This has enabled Namo Amituofo to truly abide here, presiding over the and leading infinite suffering beings to rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.

The Vital Importance of Personal Transformation

It is truly inconceivable that the monastics and lay practitioners at the temple can receive messages from Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and ancestral masters, and act according to their teachings. This is a great blessing for all sentient beings with karmic affinity. If everyone can follow the teachings and purification methods provided by Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su, they can transform their body, mind, and spirit. They can live without the need for medicine or injections, remain free from aging and sickness, and ensure their spirit never dies, ultimately attaining rebirth in the Western Pure Land.

Listening to the sutras and hearing the Dharma are essential courses at the temple. Through the Dharma talks given by Practitioner Su, one comes to understand Namo Amituofo and the Western Pure Land. By understanding the laws of and cause and effect, one can change their thoughts and intentions, correct their shortcomings, and regulate their body and mind. This is the path to purification, rediscovering one's true nature, and saving oneself and others.

The Power of Vision and Spiritual Deliverance

Through countless trials and purification, Practitioner Su has attained clear, penetrating vision and the power of the Buddha eye. He can see the afflicted areas of the body, as well as the presence of karmic creditors and attached spirits. Through the resolution of conflicts, the invitation of spirits, and the of karmic creditors and attached spirits to the Western Pure Land, physical and mental ailments are improved. This deliverance also extends to one's ancestors and teachers from countless past lives.

With the Buddha's blessings, the Namo Amituofo Buddha-name chanted by Practitioner Su penetrates time and space, opening up the spiritual dimensions. This allows the fifty trillion cells of the body and the spirits of karmic creditors and attached spirits to be reached. They are then able to listen to the Dharma, feel the Buddha-name, and bathe in the Buddha-light. Consequently, one can perceive the thoughts, actions, and habits of these karmic creditors. We can know if they have truly repented, if they have changed their personalities, and if they are truly diligent in seeking purification and the dissolution of karmic obstacles. We can see if they are genuinely willing to resolve their karmic grievances and if the ceremony has the power to send them to the Western Pure Land. Whether the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas are truly present is clear to those with the vision to see.

A Call to Save the World

In the temple, the responses are manifest and clear. Whether the spirits choose to resolve their grievances or not, there is always a visible reaction. Naturally, the karmic creditors can also receive the fastest transformation. Without medicine or injections, conditions improve, and karma is transformed. However, if the individual lacks sincere faith and the karmic creditors refuse to be reconciled, the person will continue to follow their karma, and the illness will remain. One must be vigilant; while Buddhas and Bodhisattvas appear in the world to heal, one must also save oneself. Transforming karma is not easy. Encountering Namo Amituofo abiding in the world is an opportunity that is difficult to encounter even in millions of years. Yet, without the effort of self-help and the vow to join the Buddha in saving the world, one cannot truly be saved.

By cultivating a compassionate heart and purifying the body, mind, and spirit, one's innate abilities are revealed. The spiritual space opens, allowing communication with the fifty trillion cells and the spirits of karmic creditors. This gives these beings a chance to voice their grievances. With the merit of Practitioner Su and his ability to see the laws of karma and cause and effect, these grievances can be resolved. When the individual transforms their heart and acts with sincerity, the karmic obstacles are dissolved. By being humble, pure, good, selfless, and without attachment, the goal of living without medicine or injections, remaining free from aging and sickness, and ensuring the spirit never dies is not a dream, but a reality.

Mental illnesses are often the result of one's being controlled by karmic forces or karmic creditors, or the consciousness entering into other spiritual spaces. The scattering of the three hun souls and seven po souls is also a frequent cause of physical and mental illness. Through the Buddha's blessings, these scattered souls can be invited back, helping to restore mental health. Relying on the great compassionate power of the Buddha, all difficulties can be resolved in a state of deep meditative concentration. Through body-mind-spirit purification, one's true nature is developed. When the time is right, all obstacles will naturally be resolved.

This is a brief overview of the current situation at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. Namo Amituofo, Practitioner Su, and the fourfold assembly of disciples are working together to save the world and lead infinite suffering beings to rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, thereby propagating the Pure Land Dharma Gate to the world. We invite all those with the aspiration to chant the Buddha-name, practise, and save the world to join us. Namo Amituofo.
