This is a record of an interview with Bhikkhuni Fuhui, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. She now resides in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon her life as a healer and her subsequent journey to the Pure Land. Recorded by the chief writer, Venerable HaiZe, on August 21, 2018.

Bhikkhuni Fuhui speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am Bhikkhuni Fuhui. I am speaking to you now from the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. I hope that everyone who hears this will believe in the truth of this message.

I passed away over thirty years ago. In the human world, I considered healing others my sacred duty. I understood the laws of and cause and effect, and I spoke of them often. My treatments were unexpectedly effective, and more and more people came to me. I could never turn them away because I knew how much they were suffering. I had the ability to save them, and I gave everything I had to every person who sought my help. I used Great Water, and I used my own heart to communicate with them.

The Burden of a Healer

At the same time, I took on their —many sentient beings who were unwilling to be resolved attached themselves to me. I knew it was happening, but I had no complaints. I knew it was an inevitable process. I had to bear the suffering of these beings so that they could leave their suffering behind. But, of course, I had to pay the price with my own physical body.

I knew that this physical body was merely a temporary vessel, to be used for as long as it could hold out. When my body could no longer function, I entered samadhi and departed this world. Celestial beings received me into the second heaven. Without the shackles of a physical body, my spirit was finally liberated. Yet, I knew that people in the world were still suffering. I knew that one day, I would return to save them.

The Limits of the Physical Body

At that time, I did not have the ability to send these beings to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. That is why the karmic creditors had nowhere to go and kept coming to me, causing my physical body to suffer along with them. I endured all sorts of voices from people—some praised me, others slandered me. Eventually, I chose to drink only Great Compassion Water, remain silent, and eat very little. As Practitioner Su often says now, I used this method to maintain my life's energy.

Thanks to the nomination by the volunteers at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, my name was called by Practitioner Su—whom everyone now reverently calls 'Buddha Su'. The practitioners there observed that I was in the celestial realm, so they invited me down. Then, through the compassion of Practitioner Su, I was sent to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. It is truly inconceivable! This level of skill is a combination of self-effort and the power of the Buddha, resulting in a magnificent act of saving the world.

An Inconceivable Deliverance

Among the beings saved, I am just one; there are immeasurable and boundless beings who have been saved and reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Yet, few people know this. Even those who do sometimes refuse to believe, choosing to leave or even slander the work. I understand this situation very well. It is such a pity!

Practitioner Su’s true skill comes from his own great compassionate vow and his honest, diligent practice. Those with clear eyes know that Practitioner Su is a 'returner'—someone who has come back from the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss with a vow to save beings and guide them back. If those who hear this do not believe, they might slander him again. But someone with a true heart for saving the world will not stop because of such obstacles, because the suffering of beings is just too great!

The True Compassion of Practitioner Su

Because these people do not understand the true situation, Practitioner Su chooses not to respond and remains unmoved, so as to avoid increasing their sins. On this path of saving the world, even when he takes on the suffering of beings—and it is truly, truly painful!—he cannot and will not cry out in pain. Because the beings are suffering far more than we are! I understand this very well. What makes me feel such respect and gratitude for Practitioner Su is his true ability to send spirits to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, and his freedom to travel between the Western Land, the human world, and the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. This is not an ordinary ability. Even many abbots and founding masters of famous temples today do not possess such power. I know this to be true. I am just one of many who have received such benefits of the .

In truth, the manifestation of Practitioner Su’s true self is a way of teaching the Dharma. It is a fusion of his deep background as an ancestral master from past lives and his natural, innate compassion. It is a tremendous blessing for all beings! I hope with all my heart that everyone will believe! Do not let such a great being, who possesses the true skill to save the world and save people, pass by silently.

A Once-in-a-Thousand-Years Opportunity

Today, the Buddha’s compassion is manifesting as the construction of the Mituo Village on the grounds of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. Those who are able to live there will have the opportunity to be sent to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This is such precious news. It is a once-in-a-thousand-years opportunity! I urge everyone to seize this chance—it is not something easily encountered! If you know the beauty of the Western Land and have made a vow to be reborn there, you must not miss this. Please, tell everyone you know. Namo Amituofo."
