The Illusion of Separation and the Light of Truth
An Interview with the Spirit of Lee Kuan Yew
Recorded on May 29, 2018
This interview was recorded on May 29, 2018. It features the spirit of the late Prime Minister of Singapore, Lee Kuan Yew, who sought deliverance through the compassionate efforts of Practitioner Su at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre. Having transitioned into the light of the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, he shares his profound realisations regarding the nature of existence, the karmic burdens of the worldly realm, and the transformative power of the Buddha’s light.
Lee Kuan Yew speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. After the golden light suddenly appeared, I saw everything merge into one. The yellow-skinned, the red-skinned, the white-skinned, and the black-skinned—all became one. Even the bodies of beasts, trees, stones, fish, and crabs, as well as tiny dust particles, plastic particles, molecules, colourful clouds, meteorites, and extraterrestrial beings—all became members of the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. The so-called distinctions we make—beauty and ugliness, right and wrong, and the external forms we inhabit—are all products of the discriminations made within this worldly realm. They are all various karmic fruits resulting from the laws of and cause and effect within the cycle of reincarnation."
The Weight of Habitual Tendencies
"Our spirits have been rolling through the mud of this worldly realm for far too long. We carry layer upon layer of solid, ingrained habits and tendencies upon our backs. Because of the harm we have caused others through these habits, those we have wronged attach themselves to our very pores, ready to be stirred into action by our own thoughts at any moment. Have you ever felt an inexplicable emotion wash over you? Or suffered a sudden, unexplained fall or accident? These inexplicable events are not without cause; they are all being pulled along, bit by bit, by our own past actions. If you observe with enough subtlety, you will realise that a single thought can cause you to stumble, and a single glance can trigger a surge of emotional turbulence. Accidents that seem to have no warning are, in the ledger of life and death, already destined and approved to occur."
The Script of Life and the Light of Deliverance
"In the past, I felt deep sorrow whenever I heard of an old friend suffering an accident or passing away from illness. At funerals, friends and family would offer a deep bow, and that would be the end of a life. No one can escape this script of life. The end of every such drama is filled with grief. But now, I reside in a realm of pure light. My beloved wife, who accompanied me throughout my life, has also arrived in this world of light. It was Practitioner Su who helped us. Every day, with a heart of great , Practitioner Su performs for beings throughout the Realm. Such magnificent events take place daily at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre."
A Final Reflection on Singapore
"I am deeply grateful to Practitioner Su for helping to perform Chao Du for Singapore. Even now, I remain very concerned for the people of Singapore. Among those who have been saved, there are even those whom I, in my past life, had sentenced to death. My gratitude for this deliverance is beyond words. It is a profound relief to see that even those karmic debts can be resolved in the light of the Buddha. I hope that the people of Singapore can also come to understand the truth of the and find their way to the light."
This message was recorded by the chief writer, disciple Shi Faxin.
