The Illusory Nature of the Physical Body
Teachings from Namo Amituofo
From the Hong Kong Winter Dharma Assembly, 2019
Namo Amituofo teaches: "An illusion within an illusion—how can any of this be real? Worldly people do not realise that has already passed; what is it that can come? There is no true substance."
The Mirage of Existence
Illusion. This illusion within an illusion is difficult for worldly people to understand. Clearly, it is an illusion, yet all mistakenly believe it to be real. Illusion is a difficult appearance, causing worldly people to be unable to depart or let go.
The Shackles of the Form
If one does not see through the illusory body, then the body itself becomes a shackle; it is the greatest obstacle. The body has birth and death; it cannot exist at all times. Before one's lifespan comes to an end, one should break through it.
to the Truth
That illusion will then no longer be an illusion; one will be able to see the Truth. Namo Amituofo.
