The Infinite Compassion of the Buddha-Heart
Words of Namo Amituofo and the Mission of Practitioner Su
Recorded by Venerable HaiZe on October 1, 2022

My children, do you truly understand the Buddha-heart? In truth, the Buddha has no heart in the way humans perceive it, for it is not limited by form or emotion. If we were to describe the Buddha-heart, it would be boundless and without end. It is a state of being that possesses the capacity to know and clearly perceive every situation within the vastness of the realm of emptiness.
The Boundless Reach of the Buddha-Heart
The Buddha-heart is intimately aware of the conditions of both time and space. It feels the suffering of the infinite, boundless beings who are currently trapped in the cycle of rebirth, waiting to be rescued. Namo Amituofo vows to save these countless suffering beings. Wherever a being calls out to Namo Amituofo, whether by chanting the name of Namo Amituofo, the Buddha knows it at that very moment. The Buddha can reach the location of that being and perform the work of salvation.
The Buddha does not abandon a single being. Every sentient being possesses the original Buddha-nature. If we can rescue a being, we are, in essence, rescuing a future Buddha. Once this Buddha-to-be reveals their original nature and reaches the state of an awakened being, they too will be able to help infinite, boundless beings leave suffering behind. This is why the Buddha treats every single being with the utmost respect. Even a single grain of sand, a speck of dust, or a microscopic particle is a being, and therefore, it is also a potential Buddha.
The Vital Importance of Dharma Affinity
However, for this salvation to occur, there must be a manifestation of Dharma affinity. One must chant the Buddha's name with the utmost sincerity. When you chant with a sincere heart, you are manifesting your own inner strength. This sincerity allows you to resonate with Namo Amituofo, enabling the Buddha's to descend upon you. Only when beings are willing to accept this salvation can the Buddha truly save them. If there is no Dharma affinity, and the beings have no sense of connection, even if the Buddha were to appear before them, they would not be able to be saved.
The Manifestation of in the Human World
The Buddha-heart is empty, yet it is one with every being in the Dharma realm of emptiness. Because of this, the Buddha can know, see, and clearly understand the affairs of all beings in the Dharma realm, from something as small as a single drop of water to the vast events of the entire universe. If you are a practitioner who sincerely follows the Forty-eight Great Vows of Namo Amituofo, the Buddha will know you, understand you, and will certainly protect you with the Buddha's blessings.
The Buddha exists in a spiritual state. The Buddha will always save those who can be saved. Yet, there are still many beings who suffer, whom Namo Amituofo cannot reach directly. This is why there is a need for those in the human world—those who possess the great strength to align their hearts, vows, and actions with the Buddha—to work alongside the Buddha to save the world.
At this very moment, Practitioner Su has appeared in the human world! It is this person, at this very time, who has gathered with all of you at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre. Practitioner Su leads every member of the fourfold assembly of disciples to:
- Follow the Buddha's heart, vows, and actions with diligent practice.Enter the state of an awakened being.Engage in the Buddha's work of saving the world and rescuing all beings.
