This is a record of an interview with Lay Practitioner Chen Maonü, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. She now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon her transition and current state of being. Recorded by the chief writer, Fa Ning, on December 26, 2025.

Lay Practitioner Chen Maonü speaks:

"Namo Amituofo! Namo Amituofo! Greetings to everyone, and greetings to the Venerable Master! I am Chen Maonü, and I am a truly blessed grandmother! Today, I am sitting upon a lotus seat in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, singing 'Namo Amituofo' at the top of my voice. I can feel the sincerity and filial piety of my grandchildren, and I am so deeply grateful. I am grateful to Namo Amituofo, to Practitioner Su, and to all of you! This world is so incredibly beautiful—it is beyond anything you could ever imagine. I certainly could not have imagined it myself, and that is how I know I am truly, incredibly blessed."

A Life of Simple Joys and Hidden Affinity

"During my life, I loved spending time with my children and grandchildren. I thought to myself that as an elderly person, I should just be happy, keep everyone company, and enjoy the time we had together. Although I did not know Namo Amituofo very well back then, I knew in my heart that I must have had a deep Buddhist affinity. Whenever I saw a statue of the Buddha, I would always smile with genuine . Now, sitting here in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, every day when I look up, I see Namo Amituofo. This kind of happiness is truly beyond words!"

The Journey Through the -Nature Land

"Ever since I entered the Western Land of Dharma Nature, I have been so happy. Although it is not quite as magnificent as the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, it is still a peaceful and beautiful Buddha-land. What moved me the most was discovering that on the Earth we once inhabited, there are people who have attained Buddhahood and are actively saving others. It is not just humans; there are so many different types of beings, demon crowds, and even beings coming up from the hells who can all be seen and helped there. Later, I kept looking forward to entering the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, and that wish was fulfilled very quickly."

The Truth of Samsara and the Value of Human Life

"From here, it is effortless for me to watch over you. I can see whoever I wish to see, and I can go wherever I wish to go. My only regret is that I know my own meditative concentration was not deep enough during my life. I did not truly understand the Buddha or chant Namo Amituofo with enough focus to attain rebirth earlier. If I had, I could have brought even more of the beings attached to me back to this beautiful world. Watching them from here, I see them continue to suffer one after another after I have left. I do not know when they will have the next opportunity to encounter the Buddha. This is the truth of samsara, the cycle of rebirth. I truly hope you all understand this principle.

"If you have the chance to know the Buddha, you must seize the opportunity while you still possess a human body. Chant 'Namo Amituofo' until the very end; the help it provides you is immense! Remember, to be a human being, you must live for the sake of others to have any real meaning. If you only live for yourself, then as Practitioner Su says: you have truly lost it all!"

A Final Promise of Devotion

"Fortunately, I was a good person in my past life, so after I passed away, I went to a good place, but it still cannot compare to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. From now on, you can all rest easy. I am by the side of Namo Amituofo, and I am staying there. Throughout my many lives, I will follow the Buddha and never again walk the path of delusion.

"I sincerely thank Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su! This disciple bows her head in gratitude to the Buddha!"

"Namo Amituofo."

— Chen Maonü
