The Lingering Echoes of Human Attachment
An Interview with the Spirit of Lee Kuan Yew
Recorded on June 22, 2018
This interview was recorded on June 22, 2018. The spirit of the late Prime Minister of Singapore, Lee Kuan Yew, sought deliverance through the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre. In this testimony, he provides a profound reflection on the nature of space, the lingering spirits of the departed, and the necessity of true spiritual deliverance.
Lee Kuan Yew speaks:
"In the vast expanse of space, there are infinitely layered sentient beings who have nowhere to go. They drift aimlessly throughout the human world. People often speak of places being 'heavy with yin energy,' or refer to 'yin lands' and 'yin dwellings.' These terms—and the spirits associated with them—are things that people fear and desperately try to avoid. Yet, they fail to realise that these phenomena are simply the result of spirits congregating in excess, compounded by a multitude of negative emotions.
The Hidden History of a Home
Let me give you an example. Consider a man named Wang Er. He was an ordinary office worker, married for three years with one young child. He worked with great diligence, constantly saving money for his family, dreaming only of providing a place where they could be sheltered from the wind and rain. One day, through a real estate agent, he learned of a property being sold at a very low price. Wang Er was deeply tempted. After finishing work, he rushed to contact the agent and went to inspect the condition of the house and its surroundings.
As soon as he stepped inside, he felt a chill. His entire body trembled involuntarily, though he dismissed it as nothing. He toured the house: it was a three-bedroom, two-living-room layout, with a master bedroom containing an en-suite bathroom, two guest rooms, a dining room, and a living room. It was exactly what Wang Er had been looking for. He observed the environment and the state of the property with great care, looking into every corner, calculating in his heart that if the price was right, he would buy it. After returning home and discussing it with his wife, he went back for a final confirmation. After speaking with the agent, they decided to purchase the house to serve as their sanctuary. After three months of renovations, they officially moved in.
A Haunting Presence
Strangely, after living there for two months, Wang Er’s mental state began to deteriorate. At work, he often found it impossible to summon any energy and frequently needed to rest. Neither medication nor medical check-ups could resolve his condition. Finally, he had no choice but to contact the original real estate agent to ask about the previous tenant and whether they had encountered similar issues. Only then did the agent speak honestly: the previous tenant was a woman whose marriage was deeply unhappy. Her husband was frequently unfaithful. In a desperate attempt to save her family, the woman threatened to take her own life, but her husband remained cold-hearted and refused to turn back. In the end, the woman hanged herself right there in the living room.
Upon hearing this, Wang Er and his wife felt goosebumps all over their bodies. They hurriedly sought out people of virtue and practice to come to the house and perform for the previous owner, but the situation did not improve. Wang Er and his wife decided they had to move out. On the very night before they were set to leave, both Wang Er and his wife had a vivid dream. They dreamt of a woman wearing a red top, her face deathly pale, her tongue slightly protruding. She stood in the living room and said to them, 'This is my home. No matter what has happened, this will always be my home. I am very sorry for the harm and fear I have caused you. Please, leave this place. There are too many emotions and memories of my death lingering here; it is not suitable for you to live here. Go to another place, and everything will be different.'
The Path to True Deliverance
Wang Er and his wife sat up in bed, both recounting the same dream to each other. They moved out immediately, and from that moment on, the exhaustion and mental decline vanished. These are experiences that many people have had, yet they often find no way to resolve them, because there are very few in this world who can truly perform Chao Du. This leads to the spirits of the wronged remaining trapped, clinging to the places of their attachments. There are far too many such cases.
However, at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, all of these situations can be perfectly resolved. This is because the Buddha truly descends there. The Buddha-light shines everywhere, and Namo Amituofo reaches out to lead the suffering masses to liberation. True Chao Du is presented here in its most authentic form—a magnificent and immeasurable blessing. Namo Amituofo."
